This is the most ridiculous application process I have ever went through. My initial app was thin, -- but twice over I bulked it up at mod's request till it was sitting about 13 pages. I was finally accepted-- after they sat on it for two days and only one mod looked at it--
And then after I joined the journal, the head mod asked, "Wait. This journal is used for other games."
"Yes," I said, and explanied that it was used for several games, but it was also paid and had extra features, and that's why I had used it.
UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!! cried the mod. And I explainde, uhm -- but this lj is paid for. Why can't I use it?
It doesn't look professional! cried the mod... and it degenrated into the following sum-up:
Me: ..say what? Well, uhm. I'm not using another journal. I have paid good money to use this journal. It is set up with a pretty layout, a nice range of icons, and I'm not paynig for another journal. There was nothing in the rules about not being able to do this. Can we skip this over?
Her: NO. I'll pay for your journal if you want but you have to use that journal.
Me: Ok... why do that when I'm willing to pay for my own journal.... so long as it's the one I'm already paying for?
Her: I'm sorry I'm not changing my mind. A new journal, or you're booted from the game.
Me: Can I ask another mod about this? To make sure we're all on the same page of crazy?
Her: Whatever.
Other Mod: ... I have no opinion. Whatever she says, goes.
Me: Great. Okay, fine. I thnik this is stupid, but whatever. You can go ahead and set up my journal now.
Her: YOU'RE A HORRIBLE DRAMATIC PERSON!!!!!!
Me: Dude, I offered to pay for my own LJ so long as it was the LJ I aws already using. Now I call you on your offer and you're backing out?
Mod: YES BY GOD I AM.
Me: Oh fuck this shit.
Mod: I AM SO DONE WITH YOU.
Me: ... ... yeeeeeeeeeeeeeah. You so are.
FOR BONUS IRONY POINTS: When I sent in the appliaction, I NOTED THAT the livejuornal RP sample was TAKEN FROM MY PRINCEINEXILE journal -- so if they had bothered to actually READ THE APPLICATION they would have known this AHEAD OF TIME.
They didn't, obviously. So that tells you how on the ball they were.
Anyway.
I would have posted the aim log -- alas, Aim Express? Sucks. So I don't have it. It was worth a hell of a laugh from the sheer closeminded stupid I was just subjected to. Professional. Hah! Professional idiots, maybe.
Anyway-- there's my obligatory warning. Don't app there, unless you want to deal with an insane amount of modly stupid. Shit, even milliways_bar's mods have never pulled this level of dumb with me. Srsly.
I'm most upset that after a week of re-writes, I have 13 pages of Zuko that's sort of useless now. That's what made me cry-- that I'd busted ass on this, only to be denied because I wouldn't cough up the time and money for a new fucking journal when I had a perfectly good one.
