Summary: Yuuta finds Ohtori collapsed on his floor.

The H2 rolled into the driveway, windshield catching the glare of late-aftenoon sunlight. Cutting the engine, Yuuta swung the door open and grabbed for the small paper bag from the pharmacy, pulling it with him as he slid down from the driver's seat. The door banged shut as he walked up to the front porch, taking a moment to draw in a breath of fresh air before stepping under the awning.

Tucking the prescription under his arm, he knocked. Trying to kill a yawn, he leaned against the doorframe and ran a hand through his hair as he waited for Ohtori to answer.

From inside of the small home came a loud, mournful howling of an upset young husky puppy. His master had been heading to the shower when he suddenly hit the floor and collapsed. Pawing at the prone form again, the small dog continued to howl and whimper.

Coyote heard the knock, barking loudly, he ran to the door and skittered around before clawing at it and barking again, then racing back to Ohtori.

It was immediately obvious that Coyote was upset. The very next thing that he realized was that he didn't hear Choutarou's voice, or any attempt to comfort the puppy. That, and Coyote was inside, not in the backyard.

"Choutarou, it's me!" Yuuta knocked again, but all he heard was the puppy getting louder and more frustrated. Frowning, he stepped into one of the flower beds, trying to get to where he could see in through a window. Bag in his teeth, he put his hands on the sill and heaved himself up so that he could see, wincing at the twinge in his bad wrist.

The pang was forgotten as he caught sight of a motionless form through the blinds. "Choutarou!" Dropping down to the ground, he went back to the door, testing the lock with his shoulder. "Choutarou, if you can hear me, say something!"

The dog circled the body again and howled, he was going to protect Ohtori. The teen had collapsed on his way to shower and lost consciousness after a sharp pain in his chest and some coughing.

Probably one of the only saving graces was the fact that Ohtori did not lock his door unless he was not home or in bed. He’d counted on Yuuta feeling comfortable enough to come in even if he fell asleep. He hadn’t counted on his condition suddenly worsening and causing this, they were planning a minor non-invasive surgery during the summer.

Yuuta twisted the knob and the door gave way easily, and he silently blessed and cursed the other boy for taking such a risk. Rushing inside, he went to his knees beside the other boy, letting go of a breath he didn't know he'd held when he found a weak, thready pulse at his throat. Pulling out his cellphone, he dialed emergency services, quickly checking Choutarou over for wounds and finding none.

The operator answered and he quickly rattled off the address and described the situation, receiving swift assurances that an ambulance was on the way.

No more than 3 minutes later the tell tale sirens were heard racing that way, within a few more moments the red and blue lights were flashing and men with a gurney rushed in to check the boy. Coyote raced around and growled, wanting the strangers out of his house. Quickly loading Ohtori up and questioning the other boy, they raced off towards the hospital and toward an emergency surgery.

yuuta, ohtori
