4. 1973 - Watergate Scandal: US President Richard M. Nixon agrees to turn over subpoenaed audio tapes of his Oval Office conversations about the scandal. (More Republican shenanigans, how surprising...NOT)
5. 1998 - Abortion in the United States: In Amherst, New York, abortion doctor Barnett Slepian is killed in his home by a sniper. (Sniper=Republican far right nut case who believes that the Earth is only 6010 years old and can't spell the word science.)
