4 ~ When in the White King's Territory [Filtered to the Victoria II | Voice | Unhackable]

Aug 17, 2009 11:23

Anyone entering the kitchen should find themselves duly warned that the floor's a bit...wet, thanks to a brief visit from a canine.  I would work on drying it off, but considering how I'm the only cook left actually working in the kitchen, I'm a little preoccupied.

In the meantime, with the other two indisposed, feel free to leave all your requests ( Read more... )

co-workers francis and dee, within the white king's territory, cabin girl greta, just a temporary setback, standard kitchen warning!, e-1

It's your own fault if you want to work while we're striking.

This is a childish retaliation based on a groundless justification. Not to mention, you have no logial reason to join his side.

Moreover, isn't your strike futile if I'm still intent on working in the kitchen?

And, finally, it seems you've neglected to recall Captain von Karma's reputation. If I'm not mistaken, his rage is something to be feared. Someone's bound to report both you and Francis's lack of responsibility, and once he hears that your proficiency isn't flawless, I'm afraid I won't be the one receiving the short end of the stick.

Holy shit you talk too much.

My strike isn't futile because I'm getting out of work, which was my entire reason for doing it. I already know that the Captain gets angry really easily, but I don't care because the Captain loves me too much to ever freak out at me.

Ah, I thought so. Although, I have to admit that I'm surprised you honestly admitted your true intentions. Most people would conceal their indolence.

Putting that aside, you say that the Captain loves you? In that case, why don't we walk over to his room, and you can tell him that both you and Francis are on strike. If your words hold firm, then he should shove all the responsibility on me for the following week. Perhaps even for the entire month, if you should so request it. Right?

I don't have to try to conceal anything because I don't care what you know or think because you don't matter.

NO! I don't want to talk with the

Well, if you're doing all the work anyway, what's the point? You keep the Captain and the crew happy while Francis and I do what we need to do.

You don't need to be so defensive. I wasn't accusing you or encouraging otherwise. I was merely pointing out that most people would endeavor to hide their shortcomings.

And that's because one person can't prepare meals for an entire crew himself. Even with a helper, the feat would be far too strenuous and result with a field of errors. One is bound to reach the Captain's ears, if not his tongue, and he'll be out for blood. And, of course, I'll have to be honest with him. My co-workers weren't fulfilling their duties, so I couldn't possibly handle that many dishes.

Ah, but you're not worried, are you? He loves you, so there's no way he would harm a single hair on your head.

It's not a shortcoming! It's something I choose not to do!

I think you're confused. I didn't mean love as in, the Captain loves me. I meant that he thinks I'm really important to the crew and he'd rather not get mad at me if he didn't have to. So, really, telling him that he should be mad at me will probably get me in trouble, but then he's going to be way more pissed off at the rest of you when he has to get mad at me. Because he doesn't like getting mad at me.

So you probably shouldn't tell him. And find a really good helper.

So you chose not to work. That's quite an admirable trait. I'm glad to know the crew can depend on seeing you in the kitchen on time and when needed.

You're right. I'm very much confused. You just contradicted yourself. You're saying that the Captain will be upset at you, but not as much as the rest of us. However, if I recall correctly, you previously said, "the Captain loves me too much to ever freak out at me." Should I assume that you were lying, then?

Also, not that I'm trying to doubt your competence -- which wouldn't be unbelievable, considering how you haven't really done much -- but just how are you particularly important to the crew?

I said I don't care what you think!

No, I just You're just confused because you're dumb you

Shut up, asshole! You're the one contradicting yourself. First you tell me I should lie about what I'm doing and then you get on my back for being a liar! And I'm not a liar! I'm important to the crew's morale and everyone is going to be so pissed when I tell them how you've treated me!

I never said you had to care. By the way, you're being defensive again.

I didn't actually say that you should lie. I just mentioned that I expected you to justify your negative traits. In any case, while you tell everyone how I treated you, why don't we also inform the Captain? You can tell him just how unfair I was being for trying to convince you to work in the kitchen.

Although, now that I think about it...you do realize that if you stopped joining Francis on his strike, we can bring this entire conversation to a halt? After all, if you're important to the crew's morale, then we need you here. Not only so, you'll have a chance to exhibit your impressive cooking, and I'm sure the Captain would end up falling in love with you all over again.
