Poetry Bite... Something new from my desk

Jan 13, 2005 00:23

Greetings my friends to the wonderful world of me!!! Ha ha. Anyway, it has been a while since I last posted in here and I thought that it was about time that I rectified that. A proper update of all that has happened to me in the last little while is forthcoming, but until then here is a poetry bite from yours truly.

"Children of the Earth"

The time has come to renew our bond with life,
Sealed in blood and fire it was purchased by many.
Through the many we glimpse potential completeness,
And by the many can this dark world be healed.
Each of us has been called to this specific purpose,
Each of us has been given the potential to mend or rend.
We have been challenged to come together for a greater cause:
To put to right the problems which wreak havoc upon our world.

Weep for us, we are the children of the Earth;
Our lives are spent and there are none who remember us.
Weep for our world, destroyed in blood and flame;
Weep my children, for we shall never be the same.

Three children there were to protect the solitary few;
Child of Blood, born from war and to war he returns;
Child of Earth, born to protect and name us true;
Child of Fire, born to purify and to watch as the world burns.
Bathed in blood we recover from the lusts of war,
If we could only remember how we are bonded to the Earth.
Sheathed in flame we burn eternally like the glow of a distant star,
Now is not the time for despair, now is the time for ceaseless mirth.

Weep for us, we are the children of the Earth;
Our lives are spent and there are none who remember us.
Weep for our world, destroyed in blood and flame;
Weep my children, for nothing ever stays the same.

I cry out to nature's children of the night,
Take me away from this darkness: my eternal plight.
Lead me back to the pleasures above,
Lead me back to the treasures of love.
From stone to stone down the path I have trod,
Through the peaks and valleys I continually plod.
The treacherous path lies before my unblemished eyes,
The farther I go, the closer I get to touching the skies.

Weep for us, we are the children of the Earth;
Our lives are spent and there are none who remember us.
Weep for our world, destroyed in blood and flame;
Weep my children, for nothing ever stays the same.

Wars come and go, we are shaped by the conflict;
Beauty is marred and destroyed by a society too strict.
Closer we come to the change, where none need die;
If you stretch out your hand and believe, you can touch the sky.
Child of Blood, passes on in the ceaseless fight;
Child of Flame, is extinguished by the passing of night.
Is there no one who can bring us sweet relief?
Child of Earth, you will live on through the power of our belief.

Weep for us, we are the Children of the Earth;
Our lives are spent and there are none who remember us.
Weep for our world, destroyed in blood and flame;
Weep my children, for nothing can ever stay the same.
