anti-otp - N./Lucifer

The table in his Nautilus is covered with a soft purple cloth made from seaweed fibres; there is a coral candlestick, and the candle that burns is made from fat he's taken and shaped from some underwater animal.

He sits at one of the driftwood chairs, both of which are beautifully carved. He is waiting, very patiently.

Lucifer arrives, with a certain ruffled dignity, but he (usually) believes that being evil does not mean that you have to be impolite.

"Good evening," he says, standing awkwardly near the center of the room.

He gestures at the other chair, inclining his head. "Please, sit." Likewise, hating everybody does not negate politeness.

Lucifer settles in the other chair, casually crossing one leg over the other. He eyes the room for a moment, taking in the decor, then turning towards Nemo.

"Well?"

"I am always industrious," with cool amusement.

"I don't know the specifics, though. Care to indulge me?"

"Certainly. My cardinal work has been with wrath and pride. I slaughter men and do not regret it."

"Pride, I truly admire. I can't understand why anyone could be without it, even in the slightest."

"Can you not? Truly, it is easily taught, but easily lost."

"When people accomplish things, I'm sure that they at least feel a flicker of Pride, even if those things they accomplish are for the benefit of others."

"Nor do I believe that myself or my people will ever lose ours. Yet there are those who have lost it."
