The word "harpy", it's Greek--it comes from a word I can't quite recall, harpa-something, I think, but it means "to snatch", and that's where "harpy" comes from: it means "that which snatches". Which I suppose means they're scavengers of a sort, and rather a bit like vultures in their own way

Harpazein! That's it, yes, thank you. My Greek isn't very good at all, I'm afraid, but I do still recall bits and pieces of it.

It was part of my studies. The Order of Themis back home looks to the Greeks for their inspiration.

Themis...the same Themis who was among the original twelve Titans?

The goddess of the natural order, yes.

I see. And what does your order do, may I ask?

[cry_reaper]

They rule. The Order holds and maintains the various Enclaves - safe places for people to live. In return, people abide by the Order's rules.

I see. And you're a part of it, then?

[cry_reaper]

A full member, not exactly, but the Reapers answer to the Order, they control us.

Oh. Rather like knights, I suppose?

I'm no soldier, those would be the Scythes. Reapers are... something completely different.

You mentioned you had studied the Greeks? [Topic change? Whatever gives you that idea?]

Well, I've read the stories of their heroes, at least. I haven't met any of their gods, though. The Roman ones seem to be a bit more inclined to show themselves, in my experience.
