Keeping a journal of things does come in handy every so often, I must admit. I'd first started it out so that I could tell our court chronicler about my adventure here, but now more and more I'm finding myself referring back to it for things, too.

It was this time of year when we had a troublesome week last year, wasn't it?

Well, I...I wouldn't mind showing you some of it, certainly. There's some of it that doesn't have, er, anything to do with the City, though, which might be best if I...left out. But yes, I'd be glad to share it with you sometime.

It was. I remember how much I'd hoped that this one would be better.

The City has had a more interesting past than I had imagined…

Thank you for taking the time to post this.

It does go back quite a way, and this is all just from what I can remember; there are other people here who have been here even longer than I have, and they remember much more than I do.

I had only heard there was an invasion when the barrier fell once before. But from what you have said it sounds as if that barrier fails on a semi-regular basis.

I wouldn't say it's something that happens regularly, exactly. But it is something that's happened before. Or at least, it had holes in it the time before, and we were made to patch them up again. I don't think it's ever fallen completely before now, though.

The harpies were here another time before you arrived, I think, when the 'deities' vanished and the 'stewards' tried to take over the City.

Which makes this the third time a harpy has shown itself? That's quite interesting to know, yes. I wonder if there's something to it.

The second time, it was a flock of them, rather like this. But they came bearing the 'deities' back to the City and drove out the invaders.

Do you suppose that's why the deities aren't raising any fuss over them, themselves? If they helped the deities before, then it could be that they're subordinate to them somehow.

You remember all of this?

Most all of it, yes. A bit is from stories I've heard from other people, but the rest of it is all things I've seen before, and that I've lived through since I came here.

You should be careful.

You know you're always welcome at the Warehouse, Todd. Shall I get things ready for you, then?
