Blue's lake monster, yes. I thought we might celebrate together, since I hadn't been out to visit him in a while.

Hello, Caspian.

A lake "monster"? And what are we celebrating?

I think he's a sea monster, actually, but it doesn't seem proper to call him a sea monster when he lives in a lake, so he's a lake monster instead.

It was Blue's birthday last Saturday. But I was cursed then, so I missed it on the day of.

Yes. You...don't recall him?

I remember him, I only ask because there are Blues in Narnia too. Blue the Hummingbird for example, he's blue and teal with a silver breast.

Of course. He grants excellent counsel on the state of the orchards.

Which is always an important thing to know, I should think. He must be a great asset to you.

He is, as all my friends are. Less as assets and more as blessings.

I think that's a lovely way of looking at it, really. And I certainly consider it a blessing to have you as my friend, Caspian.

I feel the same way, Rosella, no matter for how long I was gone.

Was it years for you, as well?

Yes, about three I believe.

It's a terribly long time to be gone, isn't it. It wasn't nearly so long for us here.
