It's a bit much, don't you think?

You don't like it? I think it's rather cute.

I suppose it does suit your temperament. So there is that, at least.

It's supposed to be motivating, I think. That's rather what Tommy said, anyway, and he's the one who gave it to me.

I see.

I'm not sure it would motivate me to do anything.

It doesn't motivate you to think the bear is cute, at least?

It is a rather charming bear.

Amory says it's called a Giant Panda. Though I think this one is a baby, which I suppose would make him a baby giant.

Which should, to us, make him perhaps our size.

Yes, I should think that's so. I was about the height of a full-grown leprechaun when I was only a child, so I'd imagine that it'd be much the same for giants, except the other way around.

Oh, but I've completely forgotten to ask--how are you today, Cain?

I'm as well as I have been of late.

And yourself?

Has there been any change out of Merry?

I'm...all right, I think. Better than I've been in quite some time.

No, nothing yet. And nothing out of Riff, either.

At least you're doing well.

Oh, drat it all, I'm sorry to hear that. Is she still there in the Opera House, at least? She's always welcome at the Warehouse, if she won't stay there with you.

I'm trying my best, at least. I do hope this change of pace will last.

I'll send her your way if she won't stay. I'll tell her there's a lady there who'd like to know her fortune. Perhaps I'll even say she wants to know her fortune in love. Either way, if she won't stay, I will send her.

I hope things change a little more, but still for the better.

Yes, please do. I'd be glad for my fortune in anything, but if you'd like me to have it in love in particular, I won't mind hearing it, certainly.

It'll work out somehow. I'm sure of it.
