That's a fine solution, I should think. Having someone laugh at you is one thing, but laughing at yourself or your own circumstances is quite another. My father always made certain to remind me of the difference, when I was growing up.

Oh, I see. I'm afraid I don't know very much about them, myself, but I have used one before. And I can certainly see why your boys might have been afraid of one, yes.
