[Accidental Video Post]

[It's just a bit past noon when the video flickers on--then off--then on again, wobbling in and out of darkness before finally bringing into focus the sight of a train compartment, and a slightly rumpled-looking girl sitting on the soft blue cushions, gazing intently out the window. Her own silence makes the noises of the ( Read more... )

[Sometime after noon, Justin finds himself wandering from car to car, looking for--

Well, he doesn't know. It'd be wonderful if he happened to come across Shilo. Hopefully there won't be any more bodies. He didn't get to see the first, but the second was enough. The combination of a pair of apparent murders with being underground (being buried alive more than once has given Justin a perfectly reasonable fear of all things involving being under the ground instead of on top of that) and disturbing images outside the darkened windows has Justin on edge and looking bit green.

Ah, there's someone he knows. The girl from the play. Rosella. She looks far worse than he feels, and she's the first acquaintance he has stumbled across...]

What do you see out of the windows?

[Okay, it's not quite hello. It works.]

[And for the second time in such a short while, Rosella jumps about a mile; however, this time it's clear to see the relief flooding through her features as she notices Justin, and realizes that she recognizes him.]

Justin! Goodness, it's nice to see you.

[Well, to see any friendly face, really, but that's entirely beside the point.]

Come in, won't you? Please? Have you looked out there, too?

Sorry. ...It's nice to see you, too.

[At least Rosella didn't have a heart attack and die. That would've just been the icing on the evil, train-shaped cake. Justin slips in, taking great care to avoid looking out the windows.]

I have. I'd rather not look again.

[Thankfully, she has not inherited her father's propensity for heart attacks at sudden news, and quickly slides over to make room for him to sit wherever he likes. She seems a bit torn as to whether or not she dares to sit with her back to the window; on one hand, it would make it easier to avoid looking out. On the other, it also means turning her back on--ugh.]

There was something out there. A--it looked like a hand. A person's hand.

[He chooses to sit a fair distance away. After all, Justin had been poking at a corpse recently. It wouldn't do to get too close to decent human beings after that.]

Oh. [a nod that has no discernible meaning] Did you see any faces?

[aaaction] primrosella November 20 2010, 00:39:33 UTC
No, no faces. Just that, and... [She pauses, her lips twisting in abrupt disgust.] And home.

But not your home the way you left it.

[Just a guess. He glances out into the darkness absently for only a moment before--ah, right. Bad idea. Better to look at Rosella.]

None of that can be real.

[She shakes her head.]

No, of course it can't. It wasn't real last year and it's not real now. It's only some sort of trick, making us see things like this...

What do you think it means?

I think they want to make us miserable, just as they always do.

You're probably right.

[He fidgets for a moment, looking everywhere but directly at Rosella or out the window.]

Is there...? Did you find anyone else you know?

[And she stares at her hands, clearly still nervous, but certainly more relaxed than she was a few minutes ago.]

I think some of my friends are here, too, yes. I've heard from a few of them. But you're the first I've seen.

[Now, perhaps, would be a bad time to mention the bodies. Surely Rosella would have mentioned them if she knew about them.]

Oh. Do you mind if I stay until they get here?

[It's not a noble gesture. Justin doesn't want to be on his own on this train--not when being alone could be lethal.]

[aaaction] primrosella November 20 2010, 01:38:58 UTC
Oh, could you? Please? Yes, please, I'd like that very much--

[And then she catches herself, looking a hint ashamed for sounding so eager, so desperate.]

If you wouldn't mind, of course.

Oh, good, thank you. I'd like that very much, yes.

[OOC: Not a problem! Rudy has been busy investigating in your absence. ♥]
