Oh, honestly, this is absolutely ridiculous.
Bad enough I already spent a day this month writing my name all over everything and very nearly ruining a few of my favorite books with it. Now I can't hardly pick one up without finding myself wanting to take a bite out of the pages! I think it's something to do with the paper, since I don't feel particularly inclined toward wanting to take a bite out of my Network device at the moment, but really, a curse that makes one want to eat paper? Honestly!
I wonder if this might have something to do with that other curse we had, the one where the slips of paper with fortunes on them were baked into the middle of cookies. It wouldn't be such a stretch, I suppose, going from paper inside things to eat to paper being a thing to eat.
...Come to think of it, a bit of wood wouldn't be so bad to chew on, either. Especially if it were wood from an apple tree. There are apple trees in Xanadu, aren't there?
Ugh. What a nuisance this is. First I woke up all tangled up in my sheets because I'd somehow burrowed into them in the middle of the night, and then I kept stamping my feet every time I saw Snowdrop, which scared her something awful, and now I'm at the Library trying to put away books and finding it harder and harder to resist taking a nibble out of them every time I do. And I can't imagine they'd taste very good at all, either, since most of them are rather old and a bit yellowed and quite dusty, too, I should think.
And as much as I'd like to just take the day off and go relax with a nice cup of tea and some hot chicken soup to eat, since nothing I made for breakfast turned out to be particularly appetizing, the very thought of that is turning my stomach, too. So I suppose I'm just going to have to wait all this out until midnight, after all.
Drat it all.
