[Voice Post]

[The audio comes on with a fumbled click, and a moment later a child's voice speaks, slightly muffled due to the fact that she's holding the microphone a little too close to her face. However, despite this faint distortion, her voice is clear and authoritative--or at least, it gives the impression that she's trying very hard to sound ( Read more... )

Your knight?

Uh-huh! His name is Sir Sam Witwicky and he's my knight.

Of course, it would be...

I believe Sir Sam is away adventuring, but I'd be happy to offer my services in his stead, my lady.

He went adventuring without me? Was it something really important?

I'm sure it was; I can't say I'm too familiar with the details of his quest, but I have heard a great many lives depended upon it.

It must be a secret quest. He said he was a secret knight, too, and that was why I couldn't call him Sir Sam when I was with him. But I think it's okay if I call him that now, 'cause I don't know how to find him if I don't.

I'm sure you're right; and I'm doubly sure he wouldn't have left without you if there hadn't been great need.

But I do think he wouldn't want you wandering here without suitable accompaniment, either.

I wouldn't have to if somebody knew where the castle was!

If all they're doing is discussing matters of state, I'm not sure why you're so keen on going there. I bet it's not very interesting. Wouldn't you rather see the unicorns or something? Or the giant slide?

But that's where Daddy is. And I haven't seen him since we got here.

...There are unicorns here? But there's no grass! Where do they live?

There's grass in the part of the City they stay in; it's just a very big place, you haven't seen most of it yet.

It's really big. The wizard's house that got burned down by the dragon looks as big as my whole castle! And there's all these towers around, too. What are they all here for?

had_not_lived August 23 2010, 05:00:16 UTC
Oh, people live in them, mostly. There are some smaller homes, too, but they're a little further from the center of the City, mostly.

Who told you about the dragon?

Wooooooow. Then the castle must be really, really big, if these are all the regular houses! Do giants live here? Maybe that's why we came to visit, so Daddy could talk to the Giant King.

I saw the house half burned down myself. And I know it was a wizard's house 'cause it had so many books inside, and only wizards have that many books. And the knight coming to get me thinks so too.

I can't say I've ever met any giants here. Do you know this other knight's name?

It was certainly a very magical house; and though not all of the books in it are magical books, it took a little bit of magic to find what you were looking for. At least, that's what they say, you know.

...No. But he sounds funny. When he talks, I mean.

Did the wizard put a spell on it to make the books hard to find? That sounds like something a wizard would do. They don't like people reading their books. At least not the magic ones.
