That's quite a striking portrait, Rosella. I had no idea that Miss Penny was so talented.

Isn't it just? She really did a wonderful job with it! And it was fun to sit for it, too; we had a lovely time.

At least it was enjoyable. I would think that sitting for a portrait could be immensely tedious. Better that you know the artist.

Well, better in some respects. I had to keep resisting the urge to make faces at her while she was sketching it out!

That didn't help in the least, I'm quite sure.

And what's this I hear about a war waged against cupcakes?

[primrosella]

Well, I did manage to resist. But it took a valiant effort, believe me.

Oh, yes, they decided to march on the kitchen the other night. It took everything we had to drive them back, but we managed it in the end. With a little help from an impromptu alliance with the milk, of course.

I see. How fortunate that the milk was so willing to assist you.

Oh, yes, dairy much so. The cupcakes didn't stand a chance.

Rosella, now that one's bad even for you.

Yes, but it was still better than the other one I had in mind, about the opposing forces being creamed.

There's really no end to them with you, is there?

No, I'm afraid not. I generally milk such things for all they're worth.

I know, I know, I'm being udderly ridiculous.

Except I think that's more of a cow pun than a milk pun, really.

That's too bad, really. Cow puns would be much easier.

But all puns aside, we had fun. And it also helped to get rid of all the mountains of baked goods we'd been accumulating in the kitchen, which made it doubly a success, I should think.
