Thank you for your patience yesterday. I wasn't used to talk to many people when I was younger. I said so. Now I don't wish to relive the past.

What did you want to speak about, Rosella?

Well...it's nothing horrible, I promise. But I've been keeping a secret from you--from most everyone, really--and...well, you're my friend, and I think it's time I was honest about it.

There's, er, really no easy way to lead into this, but--I'm a princess, Rue. My name is Princess Rosella of Daventry.

...I ought to have known you'd be the one to figure it out. Well, that makes things considerably less awkward. Yes, that was all, and though you'd already assumed it, I am sorry for not telling you myself until now.

Your poise and your manners, we should count your graceful name and that time with the shield of your family that looked important. Of course you had to be a Princess if you come from the type of world you do.

I didn't know you were trying to keep it a secret, Rosella, my assumption is that you were humble and bashful about your royal standing.

And I'm sure, being a princess yourself, you knew what to look for. I'd been hoping that with the way I dressed, people would assume I was a peasant girl that lived in the kingdom, not the princess of it. It'd worked once before, anyway.

Well--goodness, I don't want to say that I'm not humble about it, that makes me sound just awful. But the reason I never mentioned it is because when I first came here, I was scared. I'd just killed a witch and she'd sworn revenge on me, and I was afraid enough to want to keep my true identity a secret.

Dress code only can fool those who aren't Princesses. The gowns look beautiful, but who can walk in them daily? There is no practical sense in dozens of silk layers.

That makes a lot of sense.

It helped a bit that my court gown was ruined when I fell in the fountain, my first day here. I had to have it remade, which took a while, and since then I haven't had many places to wear it. But I never thought the way I walked might give me away...

Yes, and I didn't realize that princesses were...well, royalty tends to be a rather common trait here, doesn't it? I didn't know that at first, so I'd assumed I would be the only one.

It really is. We grow out from trees. That is why I don't bother to introduce myself as Princess Rue nearly as much as before.

Are there any others I should make particular note of? I know Prince Arthur and your Prince Mytho, of course, and Prince Charming who was the Warden. And quite some time ago I saw someone making a list of the royalty here, but as I said, I was scared and didn't want that knowledge to be so easily spread.

Have you asked any of Prince Charming's friends of his world? There must be more than one royal hidden there. Mnn... I know nobility like the Earl but I don't remember any royal.

I haven't, but I suppose that would be a good place to start, come to think of it. I'll have to remember to look into it. And I'll be sure to mention it to you if anything turns up, as well.
