From redsox, an exerpt from The Mind of Bill James, about Grady Little and the decision that, right or wrong, cost him his job:

"Near the end of the seventh inning of Game Seven, with Boston in control, my mind drifted back to the eighth inning of Game Seven the year before. Aaron Boone should never have had the chance to end Boston’s season in extra ( Read more... )

It's baseball season!!! And, they looked good yesterday! Also much with the love for Schilling.

Lastly, that's a fantastic bit. Bill James always brings a good perspective. I suspect that almost everyone understood what Little couldn't (or wouldn't).

I couldn't see or hear the game yesterday. Gameday audio was down and I have no radio and my TV isn't hooked up to the splitter/cable thing and I don't know where the splitter is, or how to hook it up. Alas.

and alack. Actually I was only able to watch a little bit of the game and then the rest was on radio. I'm actually considering calling in sick next Tuesday. ;)

Good luck with the cable splitter thinger

I may have to wait until mr_t00by gets home (next Friday!). But hopefuly Gameday Audio will be back online and I can watch some of the evening games at work. Like tonight!

I remember that. I also remember going to the redsox.com fansite to read the webboards and all the FIRE GRADY rants. And laughing! Oh, and that Korean pitcher too--he got crapped on by the fans too.

Up in these parts (Blue Jays land) we are wondering when the time will come when the AL East will NOT finish in the prototypical NY/BOS/TOR/BAL/TB standings.

As long as it's BOS in the first slot, I don't rightly care who's next (although even though I wish them the last spot, the Yankees are really good and I like to see them play the Sox.

Hey sis, what would you say to an outing to see the PawSox some time? I would love it, and McCoy is good place to see a game.

I was thinking about checking out Pawsox tickets. I know mr_t00by would love to go, and maybe one or two of your kids as well?

Okay I am just catching up on old blogs and this one is a dandy. I am glad you are a baseball fan! Jays win opener with the Doc but unfortunately got pounded today. So much for an undefeated season...
