Fan Fiction Challenge 1: Aftermath

Mar 18, 2007 17:25

This is the first time I've ever started a fan fiction challenge, so please bear with me while I find my feet.  I thought we could have two challenges, one for drabbles and one for longer stories.  Both deal with the aftermath of episode six and you can enter stories for both challenges or just one of them.

Just a quick question. I'm going to be working on the challenge pieces (A & B, so much fun) but the fic I posted wasn't it although it is a series I'm having a good time writing. Can I keep posting them as separate to the challenge despite being episode six aftermath?

Yeah, I think that should be okay. My reasoning for this is so that people can't wait to see what other people have entered before writing their own entries. If your story isn't going to be part of the challenge, it shouldn't be a problem.

Well, drabble traditionally means 100 but 150-200 is something I've seen before, as it gives more opportunities... 100 is the usual though yeah. 2 weeks sounds good, as does 300 min.

Anyways awesome stuff. I'll hopefully do the drabble one, and might even have a go at something longer for B.

If doing challenge B fic can it be that you just need to post the first part by/on the deadline? Because I have an idea for a longer story that needs fleshing out and I need to finish another small piece first.

Bearing in mind how complicated the cliffhanger is I'm going to need a lot more than 300 words to clear it up!

You can write as many words as you want for Challenge B, there's no upper limit.

I think that should be okay, so long as what you post in two weeks time is fairly self-contained.

First of all I think both challenges are excellent and think 300 words for a drabble is a good count.

But just to make absolutely sure, fic not connected to the challenge (or the parameters of the challenge, say set during the episode or before it?) That's still ok to post in the mean time?

Yep, that's fine.
