I know a lot of people are very upset about the casting decisions for the next series. In this interests of knowing how to handle things at this community from now on, it would be good to have some idea how many people are planning to remain active here. I wouldn't want to plan lots of activities if there won't be anyone left to take part ( Read more... )

I can't say I'm going to stay active in the comm, because I never really have been.

But I have no plans to leave and will try to contribute more when S3 arrives.

Definitely going to stick around, and will certainly watch Series 3. If not, how can I ever have anything to be in denial about if needs be? :-)

A small number of people are being very vocal. There are issues with the interview with the series creators, but those are about their attitude rather than whether characters have been killed off and whether they are bringing them back.

I have more issues with the lack of character development for Abby - and, for that matter, the way they are handling Connor. But then I think Connor is a self-insert...

Media fan interests are not the same as those of most viewers, and Impossible Pictures would be very unwise to take any note at all of fannish protests.

Personally I have no problems with Connor, self-insert or not. He's likable and fun. But I'd certainly like to see more development for Abby.

As one of the very vocal ones, I entirely agree with what Lil says here. My issues centre almost entirely around the apparant attitude of the series creators to their own creations (and to some extent wider issues) but it won't stop me watching the new series, or enjoying it, and I've no intention of taking my toys home and not playing any more.

I rely very much on this community for news and info and I intend to carry on supporting it in whatever ways I can.

I've tried to do my sounding off elsewhere, as self-censorship when it comes to language isn't one of my strongest traits when I'm off-duty i.e. not at work, and I've no desire to offend, hence my involvement in Denial, but I firmly believe that this comm does a good job, and so do you, Tammy, so I'll be sticking around in an active way, same as last season.

I also agree with Lil's comments about Abby. This is the main reason I find her hard to write, for one thing.

As you know, I agree with you entirely about Tim's and Adrian's attitude to the military. That was appalling - but no worse than Classic Trek, for instance.

Oh why did I ever join Starfleet, I'm always the one to killed... ["The Security Guard's Lament" - Linda Short.]

I was very fond of Stephen and Ryan but - and having seen the last ten minutes of Friday's Torchwood for contrast - if the writing continues to be as realistic and moving and deliberately underwritten as these two deaths were, and if the series maintains that sort of standard, I will be there for a long time.

I am not the sort of person who stops watching a series just because their fav character has left.

I am also not planning on leaving this community because of it either!

Likewise. Even if Nick gets the chop in S4, I'll probably stick around.

I will stay as active as I have been, which is to say not as active as some. ;)
