Still haven't been able to get home to post for the last few days. Without a car again, so it means I get bogged down in one place until I get get a ride. Sans internet. Yanno, in case anybody was anxious to read.
The series is nearly finished. After this, all that's left is one more ficlet and an epilogue. I hope it's been an interesting ride for you--it certainly has been for me, exploring this whole facet of my head-canon with Connor and Naomi. Being rejected the way they were as children can make people desperate for acceptance as adults, and apt to seek that acceptance in very strange ways. Connor seems to have spent a lot of time in his head, as well--something has to be really wrong in the real world to make living inside your head sound like a reasonable way of living.
Title: Under the Upper Hand
Rating: T for child abuse, substance abuse, and bad words
Characters: Connor, OC (Naomi)
Warnings: child abuse, mentions of drugs, swearing, and overly-excessive use of a childhood-friend-OC-trope
Notes:Title comes from 'Class-A Team' by Ed Sheeran.
Summary: Boy meets girl. Girl protects boy from the whole world. Boy learns that the world is sometimes a sad and dangerous place. At times silly, sweet,
sad, and hopefully enlightening as it explores the formative years of Connor Temple and Naomi Einhorn and the bond they shared throughout.
