Stein-Sherlock - Stein can tell that they're pretty similar types, except that Stein has had a leash on him since a very young age and has adapted to certain social norms at least partly. Sherlock didn't really have that sort of limitation. And Stein knows it from the way he spoke and grew quickly dismissive. Stein DOES find a great deal of interest in Sherlock because Sherlock. Paused. Instead of just leaving, Sherlock actually stopped, listened to Stein and then continued the conversation to its natural conclusion. This, more than anything, ping'd Stein and will be the very reason Stein will gladly harass Sherlock.

Stein-Dean - Stein CAN tell that Dean's weary of the mad scientist, which is actually part of the reason Stein yanks his chain so much. He sort of wants Dean to say for himself that he wants out of the deal--because gosh, Winchester, if you want something done, do it yourself. Still, Stein is actually doing well for the time being and he actually likes Dean in his... quirky. Stein-ish way. It's kind of a fondness not dissimilar to the one he has for Spirit (... actually, Spirit and Dean could get along rather well, Stein thinks--except when Spirit cries about Maka and his ex-wife). But yes, he is actually trying to keep his sanity, despite what Dean might think.

Stein-Leto - He enjoys his conversations with the omnipotent being! Leto is very much an intriguing figure for Stein, who has a strong believe that without a god, there is only chaos and that sort of chaos isn't something Stein really wants (hence his being tied down by Shinigami). Talking philosophy with someone like Leto is always amusing because he can actually be pre-empted and even defeated in his points. It's amusing! So yes. T8)

Stein-Rex - ... Stein gets the feeling he might have just accidentally-on-purpose adopted another interesting kid in Camp. Much like he did with Wakanuki at one point during his first stay. He likes Rex well enough because he's interesting but also because he has experience with mad scientists and is very frank and honest and open and knowingly ignorant but willing to cover for his faults. It's a very very interesting thing. Apparently Stein has a thing for incomplete people (which since Rex has like... very little memories or something, he kinda comes across that way).

Stein-Optimus - It was intriguing to speak with him but he's really not that interested in the metal person. He was amused by how Optimus was curious about everything ever, but also realistic in the idea that It Will Lead To Bad Places because that's what curiosity does. So. Yes. Interesting but not really to Stein's interest.

Why so curious Sherlock?

I ASSUME YOU IN MEAN IN GENERAL...

Sherlock doesn't get a lot of "joy" in life. Even necessities are extremely boring for him and if it weren't for the fact that dying is even more wasteful, he would have happily walked the plank. So Sherlock basically picks the path where he can find something unusual and he gets to show off. Validation and curiousity in one go! Perfection.

In camp, he just settles for the curiosity bit. He likes having information on everyone, keeping tabs so that he's never sort of surprised or caught off guard. Secondly, there are a hell of a lot of dangerous people in camp and like hell Sherlock was letting them dictate his life or John's (mostly John's). It's partially why he's allowed the Izaya relationship as far as it is. They both know they're useful to the other and it works! GOOD ENOUGH.

Curiosity just ...drives him. Every time he doesn't have an answer, he's gleeful. You can see that much from canon itself. Being outsmarted (for a time) gives Sherlock pure unadulterated joy. And it's enough for him to keep going because mysteries don't dry up.

Plans for Stein.

I actually have no plans for Stein currently! Mostly, I'm just trying to get him back out and about again so he can build up CR so I CAN do more things with him.

I already have him signed up to counsel all the campers (gosh, this is a very safe idea, why would anyone allow it? T8)), and I expect some hilarity to come when Izaya noses around in Stein's business (nosy people only get what they deserve, really T8)).

Beyond this, not really a whole lot of ideas for Stein currently, BUT I AM OPEN TO ANY AND ALL POSSIBLY FUN TIMES THAT CAN BE HAD.

What's been your favorite CR to play around with recently and why?

Recently? HARD. Let's do a list.

- Cass/Rex - it's like a rollercoaster of puppies and rainbows. Mostly because they're both hilarious derps and totally new to the whole thing.
- Vanya and Rex's friendship. GOD IT IS SO HORRIBLE THAT THEY GET EACH OTHER. I sobbed through their sadfaces a lot. Rex isn't inherently sad or angsty, but he has had a lot of sadtimes in his life which he has never really dealt with.
- Leto/Erik/Charles - I won't lie, I was waiting for this ever since the movie came out. WAITING AND PREPARED. Mostly it's interesting to see the way Leto fills out the spaces in their continuing married warfare.
- Leto/Rain/Machika - I... shipped this and it feels like it just became canon and tears ;;
- God, pretty much every thread I've had with Rex has been beautiful. Beautiful
- Optimus/Megatron - it's so terrible I love itttt

Your ships!
