My sympathies, doc. Hugs & prayers for all of you. It's so hard to lose your pets..., especially when they're really family. I know yours are. It sounds like Greta had a blessed exit

I had a seventeen year old tortoise shell cat named roxanne. We had her since she was a kitten. and she was always a little diva. When her health started to fade, we decided so she wouldnt suffer we would have to take her in. Well she decided to pass in the middle of the worse blizzard ever, and my father decided at eight pm that he would bring her to the emergency vet. Well the roads were closed in, and visability was zero. and he could endanger lives driving it, so the mobile country vet guy said he would be there as soon as he could. Roxanne always hated going to the vet, she would hiss and spit, and act like a little deamon in the box, so I felt bad for her having to die there. During the hor long talks about what to do, they had put her in a old office, so the other animals wouldnt bother her, and she wouldnt have to hear all the noise. My mother went in to see her, the room was freezing cold, a sliding door was open a crack, Roxanne had always been a escape artist, she was about five feet away, and had passed away in the snow. I thougt this was a intresting and graceful end for a creature who didnt like vets.
