It is interesting how buildings sometimes become more than what they were to begin with in the Nexus. Take Gabriel's cottage, for example. Maybe Headmaster Snape knew when it was built, or maybe he didn't. Gabe had never asked, but he wouldn't have been surprised if the thing just appeared one sunny day out on the property. It certainly had an agenda of it's own when it came to it's existence.
When he'd moved in, there had been four rooms. Three upstairs and one down, a nice kitchen, a couple of bathrooms (one up, one down), a living room, a mud room, and a cellar downstairs. The cellar was just big enough for washer and dryer, and an alcove for storing vegetables. That was last week.
Two days prior, Gabriel had brought half a basket of potatoes downstairs and found that there was an entirely new area--two large bedrooms, big enough for the full-size beds, desks, comfortable chair and roomy armoires that were already there. It took him a few moments of reminding himself that he was in the Nexus and this could be the only explanation for these sorts of manifestations. Then he just... continued on. One learned to do things like that living in the Nexus, even when it threw weird-assed curve balls like that.
After all the time that had passed, his good friend Alistair had taken up his offer for a place to live and was now going to move in. He couldn't have been happier. Living alone had it's charms, but after the web it was damned difficult. Now he was puttering around in his living room, which had thankfully stayed the same size since he'd moved in himself, waiting for Ali to make his appearance.
