CNN's Top 10 [American] cities to invest in. Panama City's ranked #1 in the list. The funny thing is, they cite the international airport (being planned/under construction) as being key for stimulating growth, and yet A) it's being built 30 miles outside of town in the boonies and B) the number of flights coming in and out of the regular airport has been sliced almost in half!
However, this part amuses me to no end:
"CAUTION: Local politicians, notoriously cozy with builders, have green-lighted several master-plan communities for future development. If supply gets out of hand, prices will stall."
This is yet another reason why Panama City's an unattractive pile of shit. Community leaders are waaaay too happy to be the bedfellows of (particularly)
St. Joe/Arvida Co. and seem more interested in ruining the entire area. I'm waiting for the next hurricane to wash it all into the Gulf, or for me to steal a fleet or warships and bombard all the condominiums on the beach.
