Interesting lunch...
So yesterday, I had lunch with deviltenchi, kimechan, nefie, and... Spike Spencer. He was a guest at Anime Banzai (which was an outstanding success: we had hoped for around 1000 attendees, planned for 1800 attendees, and actually had over 1700 attendees show up (I'll post the official count when we have one)) and was flying out later that day. As I was "go-fer"ing at the con, I didn't really have a chance to sit in on any of his panels, so having a lunch with him and only a few others was very nice (thanks kimechan and nefie!).
He's a pretty cool guy who can keep a conversation energized. While not necessarily an anime fan himself (perfectly acceptable, it's still "work" for him after all), we talked about many things; from food, to the story of having his head shaved by monks in Japan. So, regardless of certain roles he's voice acted for (ie. Shinji Ikari), he's a cool guy worth hanging around with. I look forward to possibly having him at Anime Banzai again next year (he seems happy enough to come back, and hasn't been scared off by fans here in Utah).
At work now, will hopefully have time for a real entry tonight. This weekend was just waaaay too hectic for a full update, and I'm still recovering from the con and work...
