NYC was great. The bus there was 4 hours though, and I had never been so bored. Luckily Meghan had headphones which I got to use since I had left mine at her house. When we got to NYC i was SOO excited, i couldn't sit back in my chair, I kept looking out the windows and telling meghan to take pictures of things.
The first thing we did were take pictures with statues, and then buy an AWESOME map. Luckily I know how to READ a map.. Will and Meghan apparently have zero navigational skills. We went to Times Square first, ALMOST went to Madame Tussauds [[at one point i REALLY want to go there, Will thought it was a waste of money]], went up the Empire State Building [[the first elevator scared the shit out of me.. the ear popping was kinda cool though]] went to eat and got some sushi, Meghan and I bought new shoes, and we went to Ground Zero.
There was this creepy guy who I think MAYBE didn't speak English.. I didn't think he was homeless, but regardless he was strange.. he just kind of stood near us when we were stopped at a bench out of the rain reading a map. At one point he tried to say something to me and when I leaned closer to hear him he tried to kiss me!!!! I had only seconds to react but thankfully I was able to dodge before he actually came in contact with me... Will jumped up and yelled "HEY!" and the guy moved on to Meghan! Will was like "NO!" and he grabbed the guys shoulder, the man was like 'I apologize' in an accent, and we power-walked away. The guy followed us for a block but then we lost him.
Will and i 'got back together' on top of the Empire State Building. Though it doesn't feel like getting back together.. but is that because it didn't feel like being apart, either? I'm not sure.

our little rendition of 'kissing the war goodbye'. I swear one day I'll make the EXACT duplicate of that picture.

the haunted train
Oh.. ok.. the haunted train. We were waiting for an uptown train and this train pulled up but it's doors opened only on the side away from us. Also, this train was COMPLETELY empty. Then it pulled away, and another train came back on the same track in the opposite direction. With NO ONE on it. Then the doors opened on our side. And we went to step on... but the lights turned off. And then on. And then off. Then back on.
Meghan looks at Will.
Meghan: Um.. do you want to get on?
Will: [shaking head, in freaked-out voice] Nooo...
Finally we got on, sat on it for awhile, and it didn't move. Another train came on the THIRD track and the conductor was like "That one will take you there first.. go on that one." So we did. That's the ghost train story.
After Ground Zero it started to get really cold out, and it was getting dark, so we ate dinner at a two story Burger King that Will was in love with, and then we went back to the Port Authority. We had to wait about an hour for our bus which sucked.. then there was a HALF hour security check.. and once we got on the bus, the heat was on all the way and we were sweating to death. Then it turned out, it was a SIX hour bus ride since they were making a bunch more stops. It sucked. We didn't get in til 2:30. I fully intend on writing a complaint letter to the Grayhound people.
I think that's all for now, I'll post more as I think of it. Hope you had a good birthday Meghan :)
