[ It's once again a Gym Battle with Asuka vs. Bugsy! And where Asuka, despite only having one Pokémon with a Flying Advantage (TAKE THAT half-fighters), should have had no problems, she forgot to take into consideration that Bugsy MIGHT have taught his Pokémon a few status-inflicting moves.
Like Toxic.
Guess who did not have fun when she realized she didn't have very many Antidotes.
So those watching in person or on video will have seen Asuka do some on-the-spot strategizing, and at least her Ursaring's speed was raised due to status problems, so she still managed to thrash Bugsy soundly with her, her Drifblim, and her Dewgong and get her badge. And of course the ending was beautiful and filled with ice, rather like Mitsuru's battle. ]
... That could have gone very badly. I can't believe I didn't even take that into consideration, but-- [ Asuka's in such a hurry since two of her Pokémon are poisoned, and one's just plain fainted, so she's walking right out into the rain after her Dewgong-- and making a surprised noise, because she suddenly looks a LOT better. ] Prima...? What on earth--
[ God bless Hydration. Not even caring that she's getting wet, Asuka heaves a sigh of relief and gives her partner a fond pat before she glances at the Gear. ]
It's true that the Gyms increase in difficulty as you go on, especially if you're not fully prepared for anything. It looks as though I still have some training to do myself.
[ her Duskull bobs into sight behind her, looking gleeful, but abruptly freezes when Asuka gives it one of her most dangerous looks and calls it back. She's on the move again and she's in no mood for SHENANIGANS. ]
And speaking of training, Mitsuru and I were considering starting classes to help trainers train and discipline some of their more... mischievous Pokémon. Would anyone be interested in that?
azalea,
fighting without trading cards,
always end with a flourish,
damn bugs,
every moment is a duelist moment
