Wagga was interesting. By interesting I mean depressing. By depressing I mean stressful. It was ok. I am actually glad to be back in Sydney, even if the food is awful.
I woke up in a shit mood today. I guess I was hoping to have a better time in Wagga. I needed cheering up, it didn't happen. So, retail therapy ensued:
1. I bought LOTS of tickets to go see various cool things like Ben Folds Five, Verdi's Requiem, and a night of Star Trek and other Sci-Fi shows music played by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. I figure Michael Giaccino did the recent Star Trek score so it's going to be good. Those are all at the Opera House. I booked to see Avenue Q as well - if singing porno muppets don't cheer me up, what will?
2. I booked myself in for a spa afternoon. There was a deal in a magazine and I thought, why the fuck not? I am working really hard and deserve a treat.
3. Found a CRAZY comic shop in town. Matt would have geeked out. They had loads of back issues, cool posters, and tons of figures and stuff. If I'd known what I was looking for I could have picked up some great stuff. Instead, I picked up Trinity and The Killing Joke because they were relatively cheap for hard back.
4. Went to another comic book shop, less crazy, more highstreet, and tried to find issue 1 of Batgirl, but they have sold out, so I made do with issue 2. Also got chatted up by the bloke at the counter, which boosted my fragile self-esteem somewhat. He was actually kind of cute. Usually I only get chatted up by weird and ugly people.
5. Found an AMAZING cupcake shop. Totally caked-out (it's a verb!) and bought some treats.
6. Went wool shopping and bought some very luxurious wool to made a cowl-neck sweater. Most ostentatious.
7. Stumbled upon a Body Shop and bought some bath milk. Why not make the most of having one?
8. There was a sale on so I found some silk PJs super cheap.
By this point I was utterly shopped out. I now have a post-retail-therapy headache!
My plan for the evening is House + Knitting + Cakes + Bath + New Silk PJs = Fun Times! I know, I'm a [loner] [loser] [insert word here].
