My Dad's been feeding this cute orange cat at his work on 40th street for probably a couple of months now. She's so sweet and looks at him all day when he's in the shop. He even goes in on the weekends to feed her because you can feel her backbone, she's so skinny. He's been trying to convince my mom to bring her home and let her stay in the garage but she kept saying no for various reasons, mostly because we have two outdoor and two indoor cats. Oh, and Katie, the kitty, is pregnant! So today we finally broke my mom down and went and rescued her. She warmed right up to the garage and is eating and purring and even went in the backyard and didn't try to run away at all. All she wanted was some attention and petting. She doesn't even act wild. She's so cute and absolutely loves my dad and falls alseep if you rub her belly. I'm leaving Tuesday afternoon so I'll only get to stay with her through tomorrow, but I think she's probably going to have kittens within the next two weeks. She seems exhausted from carrying them around and I hope she fattens up by the time they're born. I bet Alex will want a kitten if I ask him... may need to make a trip back to Brandon in September to get one. I really wonder what my parents are going to do after she gives birth. I guess we shall see.
A few days ago my friend from high school, Kyle, said he was coming into town to visit and to keep Saturday open so him and I and our friends Ryan and Steven could hang out and shoot the shit, whatever. This made me extremely excited as these guys altogether are hysterical. Probably the funniest group of guys I've ever met in my life. And all they ever do is tell outrageous stories of the shit they get themselves into and I laugh until my jaw hurts. So needless to say I was really looking forward to it. They were always the "cool kids" in high school, the juniors when I was a freshman, so I always thought it amazing that they wanted me to hang out with them. And I was usually the only girl too, which was pretty educational at times. But anyhow, so we all go meet at Chili's to have dinner, and them drinks.
I walk in and get extremely nervous, as I haven't seen Kyle in 4 years and Ryan in about 2/3 years. Steven went to FSU and graduated in the spring but I haven't seen him in a good number of months. So I'm flipping out for some weird reason, but I pretty much calm down after a few minutes. I think I always feel like I need to impress them so they'll still like me, which is probably a bad thing but what the hell. They're some of the people who can make me feel like that. Moving on, they start telling story after story, and they tell them so great b/c the three of them will take turns telling one part, etc. It's like a well-orchestrated thing and they've been doing it for years. Meanwhile, I'm laughing my ass off, about to piss myself, they're ordering round after round after round after round of beers. Chili's is always 2-4-1, if you don't know (I didn't), so they finished off about 12-14 beers each by the end of the night. Ryan's either hiding it well or can hold a lot of beer, but the other guys are getting louder/sloppier by the minute. It's entertaining to watch, I must say. But Steven drunk is always a catastrophe, and so he's getting annoying to me quickly. I try and shrug it off but he takes it as me being a bitch, whatever. Him and Kyle won't get off me about coming back to Kyle's house so I can drink MORE with them, heaven forbid, b/c I didn't drink any that night.
Long story short, after abut 30 minutes of abuse, I give in and say that I will take Steven to Kyle's and hang out for a little bit, not really intending to stay. Oh, and the manager at Chili's also informed the guys that they were "cut off" from any more rounds, which didn't go over big with them. Kinda tells you where they are drunk-wise. So Steven's in my car, breaking shit and turning on the classic rock radio really loud. "I LOVE this song!" Yada, yada, I drop him off, tell him I'm not staying, and immediately call Erin to tell her the whole story. To which she says this:
"April, did they gang rape you? Is that how this story ends? Is that where this is going?"
I know I told the story better to Erin last night, but this will suffice for here.
But I guess the thing that really pissed me off is that they wouldn't get off me about not drinking. Obviously I can't drink in a place that cards, so that's not my fault. And of course I will drink on occasion when I'm in the mood or at a party. But I don't get rude or belligerent or start verbal arguements with people. I just drink to relax and have fun, no harm done. So it really bothered me that it was obvious they need to drink in order to have fun, ALWAYS. I'm pretty sure Steven is a verified alcoholic and Kyle's not far behind him. They drank so much and got so out of hand and wouldn't leave me alone, then wanted to go drink more. I felt really uncomfortable after that.
Also, I have not contacted Maria as she called me 3 times in a row while I was washing my car and did not leave a single message. Does anyone else find that weird?
Oh, gotta call Alex back. Peace out.
