For starters,
this would be a brief introduction to the 2004 German film, though like all other wiki links, it contains spoilers.
I downloaded this highly acclaimed movie last year, to be exact, around June but never got around watching it until now. I'm glad I did because this is one movie I'd burn and keep now that I have a dvd burner*pets* This movie almost moved me to tears towards the end, and though my tears never fell, I really felt for the characters.
Tobi, the main character, struggling to come to terms with his feelings for his best friend Achim, and meeting with Leo plus their summer fling and all was a nice kinda love triangle, from my twisted point of view. Though like many people over at the
imdb forum, I wanted some kind of an ending for Tobi and Leo...and was severely disappointed for not getting one. That's the way gay movies are, there are NO happy endings. Or maybe it's just my angst radar being able to pick up angsty films and downloading them. Whichever it is, it is quite realistic that the way these characters struggle with their homosexuality, they wouldn't be able to reach a conclusion even by the end of the film, so yes it's left hanging and up to us viewers to end it as we see fit. My choice of ending for this movie would seem obvious.
Tobi and Leo
note* I still say that every other gay-themed movie I've watched so far, its gay scenes are way more natural than Brokeback Mountain*sticks out tongue*
This is Georg and MalteXDD
Couldn't resist this cap and Georg's priceless expression.
Can't decide on a favourite character in here but it's tied between Tobi, Leo or Malte! Simply because. Rare that I'd take a liking towards the main character, but how well Tobi's actor - Robert Stadlober portrays the character's sadness and anger at times really impressed me. AND, after checking their bios, the boys were all quite young going into this film, early twenties=O
Overall, this was a good film. Heard the director himself is young and gay as well^^; That's not the point but it's one of those rare times where I have to agree with imdb's rating votes!
This did not really bode well since I was watching episode fifteen of D.Gray-man before this; RabiKanda♥
Ah. Which reminds me that I dyed my hair seven days ago. Not really noticable once again unless you squint-_-
Tomorrow Later, more tennis and Abyss! Damn Roddick Ancic forth round match was good!~Hope the Murray Nadal one will be as thrilling as well! Like I said, footie this weekend was good; Liverpool 2-0-ed Chelsea and Arsenal beat MU 2-1 harhar! As for badminton, we only won the men's doubles at the local event.
