I spent the last hours of my teenage life....doing this.

4+1 out of 9 CGs I cried. NOT BAD.

I feel bad for Shinji now. I kinda zoomed past his route so I could unlock Keteru's, Shinji's route felt odd too; but still better than Takuma's. Guh.

Keteru's route branches out from the Yuichi+Mahiro route, so around chapter 3; after Kiyono threatens to behead Itsuse, and creates a diversion for Tamaki-tachi; they ran got separated; and it's just Yuichi, Mahiro, Aria, Keteru and Tamaki. Itsuse catches up to them after awhile, and Keteru's route gets unlocked here when Mahiro asks Keteru to get Tamaki and Aria away while he and Yuichi fight off Itsuse and his minions.

But, the same crap happens and Tamaki takes the blow for Mahiro and gets hurt - causing Mahiro and Yuichi to RAGE and kill Itsuse's minions like nuts. They then hide out at the shrine to get some rest; but not long later Itsuse comes again. But this time, Neil shows up too; and suddenly Keteru walks up to Itsuse and challenges him. Same crap, Itsuse runs after Keteru and Neil gangs up on him and then Keteru asks Tamaki to hand over the mirror, which she does. In between, he tries to kill Aria and of course Vier shows up♥ He then sends them over to the Yin world; and still same stuff as seen in Yuichi's route except that the focus isn't that much on Yuichi. When Ashiya comes by to tell them that now was the best time to get the mirrors since Itsuse and Neil were facing off, they go and witness them fight in the forest.

Difference starts here.
When Itsuse's minions were about to attack Tamaki, and Mahiro and Yuichi had their hands full; it was Keteru that saves Tamaki. He himself is shocked at his impulsive action but shrugs it off, telling Neil that they should leave and drags Tamaki along.

At the mansion, Keteru puts Tamaki in one of the guest rooms, and lets her be. Tamaki though, thinks that being holed up here won't get anything done, so she decides to escape. To her surprise, her room door was not locked. So she sneaks out, and as she neared the entrance, Keteru stops her. He asks her where she wants to go and said that keeping her here was for her own safety, since Itsuse was still bound on killing her even though she didn't have the mirror anymore. The mansion was surrounded by strong kekkais so Itsuse wouldn't be able to enter that easily. Keteru says that he's keeping her here and wants her to obey him. (He was sorta threatening her at this point so Tamaki solemnly agrees) somewhere here, Keteru also tells Tamaki that he is Neil, and that Neil-dude is called マクルト? But to avoid confusion, Keteru shall still be Keteru, and Neil will still be Neil as I type-_-

Cut scene #1 - Keteru had a dream that he was in a burning place, fire all around him. He wakes up and asks Neil where was he and what was he doing; and concludes that he had a dream. Neil is surprised at this, and Keteru corrects himself, saying that it was just a distant memory. Neil adds that it would be one of the dead souls' distant memories, not of his own. Neil says that Keteru has changed since meeting Tamaki. His soul and body were battling with each other, hence causing the conflict in his well-being. Keteru says nothing, and says that he'll ask Tamaki once more tomrrow, and if she is still against what he is doing, he will kill her.

The next day, Neil brings Tamaki to Keteru who wants to see her. Tamaki refuses to cooperate with Keteru, and as he promised, Keteru plans to kill her, and attacks her. Tamaki just stood there and claimed that Keteru never intended to kill her, since his attacks totally missed her. Keteru asks her to shut up and in the process, suffers another breakdown (HAHA, brain telling him to kill, body not acting) and he collapses. Neil helps Keteru back to his room, leaving a confused Tamaki standing in the hall.
Later on, Neil drops by Tamaki's room and asks her to follow him. He leads her to the main entrance and told her to do whatever she wants from then on; whether it be to look for Itsuse or to go back to her friends. Tamaki asks about Keteru, and Neil reveals that he was the top scientist back at Logos, the one that was in charge of creating Keteru. He knew how wrong it was to mess with science but the homunculus was almost done and there was no turning back. He wanted to kill his own creation but he couldn't, not when Keteru had smiled at him. So instead, we get the present Keteru who's hell bent on killing off the human race. He tells Tamaki to leave, that there was no longer a need for her to be involved with them; but Tamaki chooses to stay. Neil feels thankful of her thought but shoos her away anyway. Leaving the mansion, Tamaki heads back to the shrine, and to her surprise, finds Yuichi, Mahiro, Aria and Vier there who were all glad that she was okay.
She relates what happened to her, and Aria asks if Keteru was the real Neil. Tamaki was shocked that Aria knew and she reveals that she has met Keteru before, the first time she went to the Logos HQ. It was there that she saw a child, with mismatched eyes, living in a tube.

He had such sad eyes, and he had asked Aria to kill him.

Screwed up childhood? もちろん~

So Tamaki decides to go speak with Keteru again.

Cut scene #2 (It was all words here, but I cried like I was reading some angsty fanfic whyyyy)
Keteru's POV when he met Aria.
Keteru knew she was the 聖女, and just maybe; this was the person that could put an end to his life. He pleads to her, asking her to kill him, hoping that she hears him. Aria did, but instead tells him that only the weak will be killed. Keteru, was not weak. He knew that he many lives were sacrificed for his creation, and to prevent more casualties, he asks for his own death instead. This self sacrificing attitude of his was not weak, but instead showed what a strong person he was.
The whole thing was something like,
ケテル:ころして。。僕をころして。。。
アリア:。。私のワガママかもしれない、でも、君を殺しません
     。。。生きて。

Her "生きて" line killed me. I have no idea why. And Keteru comparing himself to Aria. If Aria was a 成功品、then he was a 失敗品._.

Lots of fighting happen in between, and Ashiya secretly sent a message to Tamaki telling her about Itsuse's plans to attack the mansion tonight as he was slowly breaking the kekkai from afar. Tamaki runs to the mansion to warn Keteru, and finds them in the underground chapel. Soon after, they hear the kekkai being breached and Neil goes above ground to fend them off. However, Tamaki tells Keteru that it was possible that the large attack above ground was just a decoy, and Itsuse would lead a smaller force down here and attack Keteru who's not in best shape. Her assumption is proven right when Itsuse emerges from the shadows, alone. Bringing none of his minions with him, because he could summon unlimited うつろs at will. He brings along a dagger called アーゾト (my kata sucks forget it) said to be the only known weakness for homunculuses. Itsuse manages to stab Keteru, and take the mirror before Neil arrives; as well as Yuichi, Mahiro with Aria and Vier. They ask her to run as Keteru and Itsuse were facing off but Tamaki says that she wants Keteru and Neil to run with them too.

They retreated back to the shrine, and as Tamaki was treating Keteru's wounds, Keteru questions Neil about what Itsuse said earlier. Itsuse was surprised that Keteru turned out to be the real Neil, and pieced together the information that Neil was not a homunculus, to which Neil admits that he was a top scientist at Logos, the one who created Keteru. Keteru was shocked, and tells Neil to leave, and he never wanted to see him again or he'd kill him for his lies and betrayal. I thought you were a homunculus, like me. I thought you understood my pain, which was why you stood by me. So why did you? Was it to laugh at me? Or was it to stay close to me so you could get a chance to finally kill me?
Neil leaves the room and Tamaki chases after him, asking him why wouldn't he explain himself. Neil says that his time is almost up, as there was a price to pay in exchange for power; that he already did the damage when he began experimenting on his own body too. Tamaki notices that his wounds wouldn't heal. Neil says that his duty is over, and he hopes that Tamaki can take over. He tells her that the reason for Keteru's current state was due to her, but he had stayed back in the shadows observing how Keteru behaved, and hoped that he would somehow overcome his curse of being Neil, the tool Logos created to destroys mankind.

...Neil proceeds to leave, stating that he didn't want Keteru to see him die. And Tamaki accuses Neil of being an irresponsible parent, asking him why wouldn't he stay by his child's side to see him out til the end. To which Neil just smiles, and walks away.

Cut scene #3 (BAH. I KNOW. THE MOST CUT SCENES I'VE HAD IN A SINGLE CHAPTER)
Neil wanders to the forest, where he lies on the ground, and thinks of his past. He was a lonely man, with no family, no love in his life. He dedicated his whole life studying about homunculus, irregardless of the sacrifices made for it. But as the years go by, and Keteru was close to being completed, Neil felt fearful of what he would finally have accomplished after all these years. But he could not bring himself to end Keteru's life, not especially after Keteru spoke his first words and smiled at him saying, "papa!"
Suddenly, there were footsteps, and Itsuse appears. Surprised to see Neil, he volunteers to give him a quick death. And Neil battles with the うつろs...

Back at the shrine, they have decided to fight Itsuse, who now has both mirrors. Tamaki goes to check on Keteru, but doesn't find him anywhere. She finds him outside the shrine, and stops him. It was dead obvious that Keteru was going to go fight Itsuse alone, but he says it in a mechanical way I'll find Itsuse, get the mirrors and destroy mankind orz dude. Tamaki insists on following, and they head towards the forest, since Keteru could sense a huge amount of spiritual power gathered there. But they were too late, and Itsuse had already used the mirrors, and soon the 鏡の契約者 would awaken. Itsuse was amused to see them and told Keteru that his subordinate Neil had failed, and is now dead. Tamaki freaks out at this, but Keteru just acted like he didn't care. But he was raging, and did not understand why he was raging homunculus don't have feelings you see uh Tamaki pulls Keteru away since he was in no state to fight anyway emo-ing raging dakara. Keteru kept asking why did he have to die and asked himself why did he have this urge to KILL Itsuse badly after hearing that Neil had died and Tamaki tells him that it's sadness he is feeling. Sadness, when a loved one has left you. Keteru starts crying dkfjdlgkjlgkj and kept repeating the same questions.
(BEST PART COMING) Tamaki then kisses Keteru, in an attempt to reassure that she was there by his side. She could never replace Neil, but at least she was here. After Keteru calms down, he asked Tamaki.
ケテル: ”先のは、何だ?”
珠玉: ”キス”
ケテル: ”キスは。。なに?”
珠玉: ”愛の表現"
I know they said more than that but. I CAN'T REMEMBER hurhur. I probably made the CG look cracky now but it was bittersweet really.

Tamaki tells him to repent for his sins by living on and that he would not be alone, she would be by his side helping him.

After Keteru regained his composure, they go after Itsuse again but Itsuse kept summoning うつろs and they kept coming at Keteru and Tamaki. Then, Mahiro, Yuichi, Aria and Vier appeared. Along with Shinji and others. They could all freely use their powers now since the seal that was suppressing their powers was broken. Itsuse runs off, and while the others stayed back to hold off the うつろs, Keteru and Tamaki went ahead.

Itsuse turned fugly after becoming the next 鏡の契約者, and fights with Keteru. Keteru tells Itsuse that he will defeat his world of darkness, because he yearns for dawn. They were both similar, as one wanted to destroy the Gods, and the other wanted to destroy mankind. The only difference was Keteru had Neil, and then Tamaki; and he turned back. Itsuse though continued on with his path that ultimately led to his demise. I'm on the happy end route so it's obvious who won kay.
Keteru tells Tamaki that he owes her a lot, and asked if there was anyway he could repay her. Instead, Tamaki asks him to smile. cuz she obviously got sick of his frowning face lol

Extra scene after the credits.
Two weeks after that whole incident, Tamaki was looking for Keteru; and kinda knew where he was. She heads to the mansion's underground church and true enough, finds him there. Keteru was amused that she found him there, and Tamaki was like I knew you'd be here so he asks her if she could guess what was he doing there. Tamaki says that he's praying for Neil, but Keteru says it's only half correct. He was also saying farewell to this place. Tamaki is shocked and asked where was he going. Keteru says that he would be following Aria and Vier back to Logos HQ and sort things out there, since he was unofficially the leader. Keteru apologizes to Tamaki that although she vowed to be by his side and help overcome his guilt, he still thinks that he must bear the burden alone.

Tamaki did not want Keteru to leave, and kept crying that she wants him to be by her side, beacuse she loves him. And though she doesn't know how he feels for her, she would still want to be by his side. She makes him promise to come back one day when he finally sorts his life out. wth man. I don't remember Tamaki being this...vocal with the other dudes. It's usually the dudes confessing their love for her, not the other way around. Omg. Keteru you saikou
To this, Keteru agrees, and tells her that he loves her too, and will return.
And when Keteru leaves with Aria and Vier, Tamaki says いってらっしゃい.

......

and it ended like that. WTF /throws. I know it's a happy end but why do I feel like I've been trolled?
