Suspense
Still haven't heard from the vet. Dithering on whether I should call. I think probably I should just let it be. We have the best vets in town and they've taken good care of our animals for 11 years (Mr. Moonbeam's before that).
Yesterday in an attempt to take my mind off things after an astoundingly unproductive workday, I picked up Leo Kottke's Peculiaroso and Tom Wait's Small Change. The former has "The Room at the Top of the Stairs," and the latter has "The Piano Has Been Drinking (Not Me)" as well as "The One That Got Away," three songs that I love and haven't heard since the early 90s. I'm glad I got them, but Lesson One: Melancholy music will not take your mind off your troubles.
So I went over to horror movies. Hannibal Rising was actually very good, but not what I thought it would be. I was in more of a slice-and-dice mood, but it did pull me out of myself a bit. After that watched Hannibal, and I fell asleep in the middle of it, LOL.
I think I'll stay on the horror movie train, though. I have several that I've never gotten around to watching, so HORROR MOVIE PARTY.
Meanwhile I just have to focus on work, because I sure can't afford another day like yesterday.
Still crossing my fingers that Buddy will recover.
