Stein vaguely realized that he had been staring at his phone for the better part of an hour. For the vast majority of that hour, he had Spirit's number highlighted in his contact list and had his finger hovering over the 'call' button. Maybe he wasn't even awake at this hour. Hell, Marie went to bed ages ago. Most people slept at a certain point at night, didn't they? And Stein would hate to wake the other man up for no reason.
Well, okay, he had a reason, just not a very good one.
Still, he knew he didn't have much time left for barely reasonable things - or any kind of things (Stein barely suppressed a giggle at the thought) - at this point, so after squaring his shoulders, he hit the call button and hoped that Spirit would still be awake at this late hour.
