I've only been training a short while, but I've already gotten to where the guys my age are. I guess they put me with the raw recruits at first, just to see what sort of training I already had. They said I needed to be polished...and that my weakness is my temper. I told them they could go to hell. I ended up in a fight with one of the instructors

Welcome to the Royal Guard cadets, Kippei-san. You've officially been initiated when someone mocks you for ridiculous things, whether it be an instructor or a fellow student or a random person when they see your uniform. I think you lucked out it was only just one of the three. But the instructors are supposed to be hard on us, I guess. We're supposed to be getting ready to put up with anything including war-hardened superiors who think they know best, which I know a few of the instructors are without testing us. Though you can't keep fighting your superiors there, Kippei-san. They might kick you out for it and you could possibly be shamed for it. You've got enough riding on your plate while trying to do this without giving them reasons to get upset, don't you think? I'm not trying to lecture you, as you probably had some reasons to be upset from what I hear (it hurts being called a nobody from nowhere, doesn't it?), but you can't keep doing it just because you get mad

It just means I'll have the other two later. And really, he started it. Just because the way I fight is a little different and not nice and pretty , doesn't mean it isn't just as affective. I think I proved that well enough. But you're right. I guess I might have a little temper problem...so I'll do better to try and keep that in check.

Yeah. They seem to really look up to me now, for some strange reason. But you better be done with your holiday soon, Kentarou Aoi. Wait too long and they'll think you've got AWOL.

He's an instructor, Kippei-san. It's his job to start it. It's your job to learn to put up with it. But I'm betting that even if they give you trouble about how you fight, it has nothing to do with how effective it is. I'm sure they know it's very effective, especially now. I think it's just that...they're worried that that kind of roughness can come back to bite you eventually.

Trust me, I'm aware of that. I have a disappointed father to remind me on a daily basis. ...I suppose...

I think it's because he kinda reminds him of a less stoic version of his eldest brother. >>; But he'd be happy to know that he's moved past the point of being incredibly annoying to Kippei~ Also, I was actually talking to Mikah a while back about the idea of them along with Shouta making a pretty good team even once they're beyond just cadets. They'd balance each other out rather well, I think. ^^]

Because, believe it or not, the public expects us to be that way. Nobody wants to interact with an angry royal guard who fights with anyone who says something he doesn't like, and you can't get your work done if that's the case. So just *try* to be nice, please?

...Oshitari-kun? He's pretty good at calming down easily excitable people too, from what I've seen. ...And I'll come back in time.

[OOC: Aoi keeps his hopes up that eventually Kippei will look at him as an actual friend someday, but he says one small victory at a time. ^^; But yeah, I'm pretty sure he won't have any problems with his two kouhai keeping that secret for him.]

Being nice is one thing. But in a fight, I'm not going to be nice. Which was my point. Let the nobles have their fancy sword fighting, mine is the sort that's needed in a brawl. But I'll try.

Yes, him. The first person up there that was talking to you. He's always been a good teammate to me and helped me train. I'm sure you saw him visiting a few times to do so. I'm sure he could work well with you too. If you ask him *nicely*, that is.
