[Action] Home on the Range

He hadn't been intentionally avoiding everyone. Really. He'd kept up with them (vicariously) through their internet updates, stalking their statuses like an overprotective technologically inclined mother but direct communication (even a phone call) had (for reasons unknown) entirely slipped his mind. Certainly the time zone differences when he had remembered wouldn't have made Emi or Jared any more pleased with him but when Mahuika Key called demanding her son return for her (incredibly shotgun) wedding, he hadn't been able to say 'no, mum, I'm busy'.

Unless he wanted to die. Messily. Mercilessly. Painfully.

Which was why, nearly a month (or had it been longer than that?) later as he was crawling into his shared flat (empty at the moment), he was plagued by an overwhelming sense of guilt.

Which then, in turn, led him to crawl back out of the apartment an hour following having left behind a string of gifts like a well-meaning, lumbering, beardless Santa Claus (in a frock)- topped like a bow with a note on the fridge that read something similar to 'Had emergency bizzo with family in NZ. Back soon! Love, John'.

It was ridiculously childish but until the completion of his masterpiece, his official return was to be unfortunately postponed.

Postponed but at the very least, he was home again. In Liberty, flopped over on a hotel bed with a bottle of wine and mint Tim Tams and falling asleep to the floresent blue of the digital clock.

Another day past.
Another year older, eh?

"Happy.... Birthday y'flash......bastard..."

((ooc: Neither John nor Kuro are dead- just busy. Very. Very busy. Will try to check in more often once schedules between jobs have been figured out. Thanks for being so patient guys- I LOVE YOU ALL))
