[Blood. Droplets of it, clumps, half-clotted globs of it sliding down, knocked around as the person in the video moves. It's unmistakably Edward Elric, but he --it?-- hardly looks human at this point, dirty, bloodied, battered, disheveled. A large, gaping wound in his side that won't close, festering, turning odd colors, oozing. His entire left forearm is blackened by frostbite; it moves oddly, stiffly, as if it's losing feeling. Blood seeps from a fresher wound, a gunshot in his chest, but he takes no notice of any of these things. Clothing torn, hair matted with blood, the creature advances on a pair of people that can barely be seen in the grainy video.
The creature is getting desperate by now. The wound in his side won't heal, nor is it limited to the human's body alone, and it makes transforming into its true self more difficult than it has a right to be. A last attempt, a last hurrah if you will -- it needs a new body, and it's potentially found one. It snarles, a raspy, desperate noise, and all at once it lunges.
Time seems to stop, just for a second.
Then, a blue flame rips across the video, and the creature, unable to change its path, caught in the middle of it. A vicious, choking, agonized scream -- the creature is being burned alive. Edward's skin blisters, ruptures, melts, hardens; the creature writhes as the flames turn from blue to orange...and then it falls still.
The flames linger even when the body is blackened and charred. The video continues recording for a few moments, and then it flickers off.]
