In Ivalice, magic must be purchased. However, it cannot be used by the owner unless they have acquired the particular licence enabling them to do so.

...You have to have a license to use-- Well that's...pretty ridiculous. No offense. Does the magic work even when you're not in your own world?

None taken. It has always been the way of things. Yes, it does work here, to an extent. My magic is still effective, as I have not lost my licences, though not quite as powerful as it would be in Ivalice.

Hmm. So just about anyone can use it, if they have the, err. Licenses. And if you didn't have the licenses, you wouldn't be able to use it here either?

That's true. Though, some people seem more... compatible with magic than others, or simply choose to learn healing spells as opposed to destructive ones. No, I wouldn't be able to.

I think that goes for anything, really. There are people in my world who can't use alchemy at all. And, of course, some people specialize in different fields.

Is that right?... Might be interesting to put that to the test, though.
