If I remember right... magic is a... power source. Like, the lights and stoves and stuff are powered by magic. I don't know where it comes FROM though. I never asked.

...Is everything in your world powered by magic? Huh. Alchemy was pretty prominent in Amestris, but at least we had electricity for lights and things like that.
