lots of stuff
I am now a PA resident, at least my driver's license says so. What is neat is now I can get a library card and not have to rely on my Mom's card to get books out. Fun!
Speaking of driving. I have really been enjoying taking public transportation to get around lately. It started with the Kensington Kinetic Derby. That's a really awesome street fair where they dress up bikes and ride around in mud and mainly act like lunatics. It was fun to be around for it. Everyone was pretty nice, and the crowd was big. Anyway, the website said "If you MUST park park at.." wherever. I took the guilt to heart and decided to take the El to get there. And, that worked out really extremely well. But, I drove to there, instead of taking a bus. What a waste! So a couple of days later I went to the Phillies game I walked down the street picked up a bus to the el, and took the el to the subway and went to the Phillies game without driving. It was awesome! So much better than driving. So, I am excited and planning on using public transportation whenever it works out well for me. I really enjoy it. I can people watch, read, listen to music, look out the window. Whatever! It's such a nice way to travel. I remember when I was first getting used to living in Santa Barbara the one thing I hated about it is that driving was really the only way to get anywhere. Public transportation existed, but it was not especially useful. After fighting it for awhile. I just gave up on public transport and used my bike to get around. So, it's nice that I am here for good that I was able to remind myself how much I enjoy getting around without using the car. So anyway. I have lots of tokens and I am sure I will be using the bus/el/subway a lot this summer.
I liked Thor and Hangover 2. Next I am going to either take Septa to go downtown to the art theater. Or, see Bridesmaids locally. X-Men will probably wait til it has been out a couple of weeks.
I loved Portal 2. (Still haven't done co-op.) And am loving LA Noire. Should be fine gameswise for the rest of the summer. I don't see anything coming out until Batman. And, I think LA Noire will take a while, and I will borrow Deadspace from a frined.
Been reading a bunch of awesome comics that I borrowed from a friend. Man, I can't really afford to start buying them again. But, do I ever love reading the stuff. The Boys, Nemesis, Powers, Locke and Key. Great things.
I got a new pizza place recommendation. I want to try it soon.
My cousin is coming to build a deck for my Mom. I guess I will probably be helping in some way. I hope it's not too hard. I had to chop down some tree with a dull hatchet the other day and I was out of it for days. That was really hard! Oh well it got done. And, the next day the guy who lives behind us finished the job with a little hand powered saw. That was nice of him. It's the first my Mom has talked to him since he moved in. He's deaf. So, I guess he read her lips and talked funny to her.
In other house hold stuff. I want to figure out how to change a two pronged power receptacle to a three pronged one. Apparently, it's not that hard if there is a ground wire in there. Hopefully there is. Because, I want to change the whole house over. I hate not being able to plus stuff in.
I've been pricing components to build a new computer for my mom and myself. It will be fun to build it. I haven't done much hardware work since I was in college. Plus. Yay for faster machine! I was almost convinced to use an SSD, but I think they still fail too often for their price. So, I will wait a bit more.
And that's about it.
