Post-kegger summary
Alright, so lets walk through the entire kegger process
FRIDAY
12:00pm
I set up driveway tarps
1:00
I go to Home Hardware and purchase new tarp and rope
1:30
Driveway tarp is re-inforced and a gazeebo is set up in my backyard
3:00 I set up tarp over back patio
4:00 van is painted and flag pole put up in front
4:30 close circuit TV setup begins
4:45 James arrives and begins sound system setup then leaves
5:30
3 Kegs arrive, dropped off by Taps. I noticed the kegs seemed a bit light and i was concerned. James, the same guy I ripped on before about sound, assured me that the kegs had about 50% more beer than the ones I got for the last kegger. However they actually had a bit less. But costed 50% more. So I called him up and bitched about it. James thought 50 Litres was more than 6 and a half cases but it's actually 6.1 cases.
6:00 I pick up drums from Bergsma House
6:30 I leave to head to hamilton and pick on a co-worker who was gonna spend the night and party. I get back around 7:30.
7:45 people are piling in and Billy has left to get another keg from the beer store (which costed $250) A pretty expensive fuck up. Overall we ended up spending about $700 on beer. If we got the same kegs as I got last time it would have only been $400.
8:00 people are ready to drink but the cash is gone with Billy and so we can't start.
8:30 Billy and reggie return and shortly after the drinking starts.
9:00 the house is loaded with people and Pudge is playing downstairs.
9:30 the first cop drives by
9:45 the street is completely packed with cars all the way down. WeWantBarabbas starts
10:00, We reach aprox. 200 people and are on kegs 2 & 3
10:15 I run to 7-11 to get more cups
10:30 We Max out at 250. Cop drives by and stops, they get out so I go talk to them. they had reports of some kids throwing rocks at cars and asked if it could have been anyone from the party. I said there were only a few people and they were all over 19. However kids are all over the street with beer cups. they ask to take a look around and I said sure, knowing if i didn't let them they would easily catch one person on the street drinking anyway. So in they come and are overwhelmed by the amount of people, however did not stop the party untill they catch numerous people smoking weed and drinking without ID. First they say everyone under 19 must leave. no one budges.
10:40 Cops threaten me with numerous charges and possible jail time unless party is shut down. Then call for backup
10:45 Backup arrives and start booting people out. suddenly secord woods is littered with people.
11:00 House is down to aprox 50 people, however people are still trying to sneak back in. Front fence is kicked in, Cop car is tagged with marker and kids make numerous attempts so steal kegs.
11:15 everyone is gone except band members and usual close friends. Lights are shut down and everyone moves inside.
11:30 Moderatly drunk I climb on my roof and cut down tarps. House looks normal again. After several attempts by people to steal kegs and sneak back in I stay on roof and scout surrounding area for people sneaking through yards and such.
12:00 blinds are closed, doors shut, lights turned down. Me and my 30-35 friends drink last keg to ourselves. and count money.
4:00 am. Most of the house is asleep, I was not
SATURDAY
6:00 am I drive a few people home. and prepare for cleaning day from hell
9:00 am I help billy and John load up car and they set off to film ice shows. I start cleaning house
12:00pm. Bottles and garbage is cleaned
1:30pm I go to Wal-Mart and purchase a new mop
2:00 downstairs floor mopping begins
3:30 sound gear is packed up and furniture is returned to it's origional location
10:00pm House is cleaned
Overall Everyting worked out really well. Tons of people showed up, paid money and got kicked out. I feel sorry for anyone who was of legal age and didn't get at least 3 beers. Anyone else was taking a risk from the start. But on the same note I almost went to jail so I wasn't feeling too bad for anyone who thinks they got screwed. But it's over now. and I have enough money to build a sweet ring for this summer. I remember this similar thing happening a long time ago when we were in high school. But it was on a much smaller scale. I threw a kick ass party and it was awesome I got alot of props for it at school and such. so Billy wanted to throw a party to be popular like me. So he did. But he sent out an email and word got around and the wrong people started shwing up and it was chaotic. Shit got broken and there was a fight.
Now a few years later. I throw a kick ass epic kegger and get TONS of props from mad bitches. So Billy decides to have a kegger which I was totally against. That right, I was actually against this kegger right from the start. The only reason I was even helping was because I knew i couldn't talk Blly out of doing it and I didn't want to see my neighbourhood get blown up or see anyone get shot. Personally I think he was only doing it to try and get laid, which he didn't. poor guy. But in the end we were both right. I said it would get out of control, too many minors would show up, the cops woud show up and that the ground would be too wet causing a disgustingly muddy house. and He said we would make alot of money. So overall who wins.... All the BWF fans.
