--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When he hears about him for the first time, there’s nothing in him but anger. Overwhelming, destructive anger he knows he won’t be able to control. But does he really have to? Who would accuse him of committing any crime if the man was crime himself. Beast, unworthy any kind of redemption or understanding.
Who was a man which killed someone who did nothing, but good to him?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When he hears him for the first time, it’s on the answering machine. In his imagination, he pictures a six foot tall, strongly built man in his forties.
Sometimes he wonders why the man have chosen that exact path. Abusive family? Long term humiliation? Some kind of traumatic event?
Possibilities are endless.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When he meets Zane, he’s different then when he called him. More peaceful, sure of himself. For a moment he thinks the man might be psychologically disturbed, but soon the impression is gone and he agrees to take Zane with him.
He is just curious, that’s all.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After a such long drive they both relax around each other. Zane appears to want to know everything about him, about his father, but mostly - about his research. Mohinder tells him everything he thinks can be said.
It’s good to have someone as enthusiastic around him - Zane convinces him that his work is important, but also, he reminds Mohinder that once he had a moment of doubt.
Even though, now he can’t imagine doing it on his own, without Zane.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After visiting Dale, they talk about Sylar. Mohinder understands his reaction partly - after all the man is a huge part of everything Zane’s asked him before. Then, for a second he sees something in his eyes, something he can’t place.
Soon Zane’s smile is there, reassuring pat meets his shoulder and he doesn’t worry so much about Sylar . Maybe he will be able to have something else than revenge and work in his life.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everything falls into its right place. It’s obvious. Why couldn’t he see it faster? An innocent person is dead. Again. She’s dead because of him.
He just killed someone.
So nothing can stop him from doing it once more.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He knows he shouldn’t be doing this, shouldn’t be feeling THAT. And yet, there he is…
“It’s going to hurt”
whispering in his ear and he can’t help it, he just leans a little bit further, bends his head a little bit and there - he’s now tasting Sylar’s neck, kissing it, biting. His hands are roaming over his chest and he feels like those aren’t his hands at all, like someone moves them for him. He knows that can’t be true - Sylar’s pretty much sedated right now.
Suddenly, the jaw he’s been concentrating on for last two minutes moves slightly away. Mohinder still has his hands on Sylar, too low for him to ever forgive himself their location. But still not as low asa part of him - not so tiny part of him, wants them to be.
Feeling some kind of rejected by that small gesture, he reaches for the syringe.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe he shouldn’t have tried to call some help while still talking with Sylar. There’re many things in his life he should not have done.
He wonders what their meeting would look like. Will they try to kill each other again? Or maybe… No.
He has a city to save.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s angry constantly. He knows who’s he angry at, knows why, but there’s something more to it, it seems.
He’s angry at himself because he couldn’t save his father, Dale or even himself because he let Sylar deceive him, because he knows that if he meets him once again, he’s going to let it happen once more.
Mohinder knows the only solution - he has to die.
But Mohinder has to heal Molly in order to do that.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is going to happen if Sylar kills Peter? He knows there’s no-one who could stop him then. Are they all going to die? Will he save him, spare him his life?
Suddenly someone appears from nowhere.
He watches him die.
He tries to deny that a little part of himself just died with him.
There’s always someone to save - neither he or his father were able to save Sylar, but now he can save someone else - maybe it’s going to be Molly, maybe the last of Sylar’s victims, dying man in his shoulders.
There’s always someone to save.
He just hopes someone would save him.
