I'm Finally Online!

It took a few days, but I finally managed to get the wireless connection established here in my Philly basecamp. Wish I had this stuff set up a little sooner though, but hey, it's all good. I wish I could say the trip up was as good, though.

I checked in 2 hours early, and waded through the shit storm that is airport security. Understand, I haven't been on a plane in over 10 years, so obviously I'd have to get some use to some things. Right off the bat, my trimming scissors were confiscated. I dunno why my mom threw them into my bag. I knew they'd get confiscated, and I really didn't want to deal with the hassle of all this. So rather than check my bags, I bid farewell to a good pair of scissors. Then Nortwest cancelled my flight, without any explanation as to what happened. The plus side though was that the replacement flight they put me on was direct and got me into Philly 2 hours earlier.

Naturally, things just couldn't go so well for me. I got that earlier flight, but I left my chewing gum in the car. Since when was gum banned from OIA?! I spent the next two hours in excruciating pain as my ears refused to pop, complicated by some old inner-ear issues from childhood. Fuuuuuuun.

My godfather picked me up from the airport and we had a really good meal in a nice Italian restuarant near his house. The rest of the weekend has been pretty simplistic. Most of it has been hanging out, watching movies, and a couple of hands of poker (which I was winning early on, but botched). Nothing much to speak of on that end. There will likely be one more report after New York, and then I'll be home :D
