Upcoming series of posts: The Awakening of Daniel Foster
I've been tossing a story idea around in my head for a little bit. As the title suggests, it centers around a guy named Daniel Foster, who is oblivious to certain aspects of this world until some rather dramatic events start to happen.
My hope is to come up with some original web fiction; I don't have intense hope that this will be some great work (like with Project Cherries, which is still being worked on). I just want to write and see what happens.
The reason I mention this is because the story is going to have a definite Cosmic Horror theme. Very gruesome things will happen to completely innocent characters (right in the first part), and I'm going to be very unsettling. I promise that everything will be given a cut tag, both so that your friends list isn't dominated by story and so that you don't have to read a rather graphic and disturbing description of terrible things happening to folks.
I'll probably have the first part up later tonight; read if you're interested (or pass along this journal to someone you think might be interested, since I'm making all of this public). But please, if this sounds like it bothers you, skip it and wait for my non-story posts. Given the subject matter, I wanted to warn everyone before diving into this one.
