So, I might have mentioned it in passing to some of you, but I'm going to be moving from the apartment I have had for almost 6 years to a new place with a roommate. It'll be in the same building as three of my other friends. I did it partly for a change of pace and partly because I wanted to save money. With shared utilities and more than half the rent I pay now, it will definitely be saving a lot.
I ended up playing more of the ongoing tabletop RPG with my friends and my future roommate (who is becoming a friend as well). The RPG has been a lot of fun, especially since James (the DM) has put a lot of thought into balancing out things so the individual strengths of our characters are highlighted at different points every session. I'm developing my character's background right now, as well as the race where his father belongs to. We ended up having a car chase for most of it, where my character was driving, one of my friends was the primary gunner, and the other one got to leap to another car and stab the driver, then leap out before it crashed, then stab the other driver that crashed into the other one, and take that car.
Did I mention none of us have played tabletop games before?
It felt good being among friends, since I remembered when I came here and didn't feel like I would ever be around anyone else after moving to a new town. I've come a long way.
