Is there a time limit on how long people are allowed to talk about something? A sort of fandom statute of limitations; if you got away with XYZ for 3 years you get away with & everyone forgives you. Who knows, maybe that isn’t a terrible idea, but I don’t think MsScribe or her friends should get to decide how long people are allowed to be hurt or angry or bitter about what she did to them. It’s arrogant and it dismisses the validity of what the people who really were hurt by this are feeling.

In fandom I've read about:
A young woman named
fireandsmoke who
lied about being in the hospital. Some of
the reactions are similar to what we're seeing now.
A person
lying about their cat being burned, all for an experiment.
Sockpuppets and
fake deaths uncovered two years after the fact.
If it happened three years ago or three days ago it doesn't matter to me. There are real people whose feelings were hurt and they deserved to have their names finally cleared. We still have people who are hurt over hate memes from last year and the year before that for goodness sake.
Are some of us less prone to care when it doesn't directly affect us? Sure we are, but it doesn't give us the right to put a time-stamp on how long a person should be hurt or angry.
"Why bring it up now?" Heck why try to solve old police cases from 20 years ago? Why award a purple heart to someone for their bravery when they aren't alive anymore? Why bring charges against an elderly person who committed a crime back in the 1970's?* All these things happened so long ago, right?
If msscribe didn't give a damn about GT and what she was doing to them since she didn't know them personally then that's her deal, but wouldn't you at least expect someone to give a damn about their friends? I can think of a few things off the top of my head that she made worse by getting involved and her friends suffered most of the fallout from her actions, no that shit isn't cool at all to me.
As for me? Yeah I'm a bit more cynical and I'm not perfect by any means, but I refuse to let people like msscribe make me quit believing in people. I will continue to believe that honesty, dignity, and integrity aren't dirty words(I remember reading online about how liars have an interest in accuracy of reporting, it needs to be stated just so. One element of truthfulness, accuracy, is involved in conveying the story, though accuracy is missing from the content of the story) and I will continue to try to be the most decent human being I can be, even though sometimes it doesn't seem like it's worth it.
*I'm not trying to put this debacle on the same level as my examples, I'm just trying to make a point regarding time.
