So we have another outing of a women pretending to have a weenis. Petulant God/spifftastic(who I always thought was a smug little shit) has admitted to being a woman and apparently not giving a damn about the people she hurt.
As much as I can't stand what she did, I do agree with this:
I might feel sorrier about this, but fandom is a fucked up group so excited at cock that they make idiots of themselves.
The women of Harry Potter fandom love a gay man in our fandom, notice I didn't just put "man" because I have men on my flist who are straight and don't get a tenth of the attention a gay man gets in our fandom, why is this? Is it because we've read too much buttsex fanfic and want to have a real life version at our beck and call? Is it because we hope it's a hot gay man and we with our almighty powerful vaginas can be the one to turn him straight? Is it because we want a living, breathing Remus Lupin/James Potter to cry on his shoulder?
Whatever reason it is gay men get away with saying and doing a lot more stuff than women. Remember the whole "Gay men know gay sex so women in fandom stfu kthxbye" post spifftastic made? I was more disgusted by the huge fandom circle jerk than the post itself including this gem of a comment:
He probably understands a woman's body better than most women.

And let's not forget the scramasaxx/cravache debacle a few years ago in which cravache was already a fairly respected writer in the fandom but wanted ~*moar*~. It only took her male sockpuppet scramasaxx a month to get in good with HP fandom and received invites to exclusive communities.
If any of you were friends with spifftastic, I'm sorry you were duped. It's not fair and I hate the whole "this is just the internet lulz!" defense when stuff like this happens too. I don't get the fascination with men in our fandom and I don't get the reasoning for sockpuppeting as a man or penwriting as a male, it's still not YOU and it makes me think you're ashamed to be a woman, my opinion.
