i heart the south

Soooo. Am in Little Rock. Damn hills. I miss Houstonnnn. And my friends. And hell, even sleeping on the couch at Ashley's house. Came down here Thursday because Grandmother took a turn for the worse. She waited until she said bye to everyone to let go. She died on Saturday and I'm kinda glad. Not that she's gone, but that she's not in pain and with her parents and Papa. She's probably already finished a quilt for Jesus and is working on a couple more while nagging everyone half to death.

Family is taking it well. Already joking and such. Am worried about Granddaddy though. It's rough on him. He thought that she would outlive him (side note: he turns 80 on friday) and so everything was already set up so she wouldn't have to worry about a damn thing ever again. It's crazy how much money these people have. I swear, they could buy a mansion fifty times over and here they are, wearing second hand clothes and buying in bulk. It's the Depression-era kids. Crazy.

On the plus side, got to catch up with Uncle Steve and Aunt Sharon. Who are actually my great aunt and uncle, but I swear, they don't look a day over fifty. I wanna go out to Dequeen now. Really, who doesn't want to go to see your cousins on a hog farm? I know I do. I also want to see where Mom's grandpa made moonshine.

Oh, rednecks. It is my heritage.

Anyway. Not much else is going on. Mostly just been helping Mom around the house, cleaning and whatnot. The quilting room is going to be a bitch, what with all that fabric and four freaking sewing machines. Seriously. Who needs that many machines? Oh, and we've inherited a new Lexus. And a Rolex that is worth more than my freaking car. And I'm talking about my Focus here, not the Saturn because that's just a POS. It's got diamonds on it. Diamonds. On a watch. Who does that?! And why has no one spoken to me of this money before? Double-you-tee-eff, y'all. Wft? Anyway, not important.

Oh, and I've finally decided on a tattoo for Papa. And Mom's going to give me a copy of my favorite picture of him: playing poker and drinking beer with his war buddies. He was such a bad ass.

And in other news, cancer sucks. That is all. Talk to ya laterrr. Or I'll blog later. Whatever..
