Update on my friends' kid
Friday morning he took a nosedive and they sent him to ICU. His dad went to have a flurry of tests to see if he would be a match for a partial transplant, but it turned out he wasn't.
In a twist of fate, a liver became available, and that operation should have started about 45 minutes ago. Children's kicks everyone but parents/guardians out at 8 pm, so I don't if the operation actually started, that was just the last update I had.
I'm having trouble sleeping, partly because I have guests (other friends came to show their support) so I let them have the bed and took the couch; partly because I had a lot of ice tea last night, but probably mostly because I'm fretting. I do that.
The operation probably won't be over until 4 pm or later tomorrow. We'll be back at Children's when they let people in at 8 pm.
