Ok....so I just tried out this belly dancing workout video.....I have to say, it was a little harder than I expected, but it was also really fun! It worked muscles I didn't know I had, and gave me a cardio workout at the same time.... Afterward, I had that wonderful muscle twitching thing that always lets you know you've had a decent workout, AND I felt all feminine lol...
This is all part of my new plan to find ways to make exercise fun. I mean, there are things I've always wanted to try, and some things I already enjoy... For example, I've always wanted to learn belly dancing, so I'm looking into getting some instructional videos and possibly taking classes. I also already enjoy playing basketball with my daughter, so that's a fun way to slip in some exercise here and there. I like to go for walks, and while that doesn't exactly give me a "kicking my behind" type of workout, once again, it's a fun way to add in some extra here and there... Also, I've just recently discovered how much fun a kick scooter can be...lol. Who knows, maybe I'll finally learn how to roller skate and ride a bike (yes, sad but true, I can't ride a bike). I also used to have this Tae Bo video (that was relatively mild for Tae Bo)... perhaps I can find it again (because there is no way I'm prepared for the tough ones). I also have "The Biggest Loser" workout, but I haven't done it yet, because it looks like your same old boring exercise video from what I've seen... I might throw it in here and there, just because I LOVE that show, and it always makes me want to go train for a marathon or something...
Anyway, the key here is I need to stay interested. I get bored REALLY fast, so I'm hoping if I change it up enough, it won't happen. Anything that can help me stick to it is worth trying, right?
Oh well......
So......Christmas.....
Nothing went exactly as planned (does it ever?) and my kids ended up kind of grouchy... The week before Christmas we all got sick, so that was fun....
I was REALLY in the mood for all the festivities BEFORE Thanksgiving, but then as soon as it was time to be in the mood, I turned into the Grinch... ....oh well..maybe next year.
