Last night I was wide awake anyway and participating in fun twitterbook RP so I decided to get on my Alliance toon. My only Alliance toon as I do not know how to RP Alliance side because lol what is this Alliance thing? >_> I ONLY KNOW OF THEM TO KILL THEM.
Seriously.
I was talking to someone about it and I realized that I don't know how to Alliance at all. I haven't played it since back in BC, technically. Then I went Horde and didn't look back. I don't know how to travel from Point A to Point B on Alliance. Need to get to Kalimdor? STOWAWAY ON THE ZEPPELINS. Need to get to Northrend? Look confused then Alt+F4 out.
That's pretty much my life. The only reason my singular Alliance toon exists is because I switched my Horde rogue (my first Horde toon to make it to 70 back in the good old days) over to Allyside and it's 83 now. It's a nice thing to have to neutral auction house work. And trolling. Not like 'log onto my ally toon and yell at the guy who ganked me' trolling. More like, I stealth poorly into your cities and use Distract and Sap on your flagged people because I'm bored. >_>
But anyway, I decided to see what Alliance RP was all about and I was shocked to find that Stormwind was buzzing with RPers at a hour where I didn't expect anyone to be on! I know WrA is on a different time zone, but nonetheless at 3am server Stormwind looked like peak hours. I almost never do walk up RP because I am really nervous about it, but I decided to jump in and give it a shot. At that hour and on an alt I rarely play it felt pretty anonymous and I guess that was good enough to deflect some of those fears. I'd love to do it on some of my Horde alts sometimes, but that's still scary. :O
Anyway, she did end up getting some RP and so I've decided to keep her around as a character, at least when I feel like taking it easy. She met a Night Elf near the Cathedral who had also never been to the city and the RPer was actually really great and competent. There was also a human (worgen technically, but we were both in human form) whose only purpose eventually was to hit on both the Elf and my own character but both ladies deflected it well. That was kind of a big step for me because I'm used to freaking out over people who look like they want to ERP and praying for a friend to bail me out. XD I knew the character was a keeper when I knew exactly how to get out of that situation. She's so fun!
There was also the Curious Case of the Looping Death Knight.
Put simply, she was a woman from Lordaeron whose memories apparently kept looping back around to her last experiences before she died. Which was some time before the Third War. She wandered around in a haze asking people if they were her daughter and husband and family and if someone say, joked with her and went "oh yeah, that's your husband there!" she'd wander over and go "Oh, Gerald! It's been so long!" and then this would repeat several times. I don't know if that was the entire character or just some sort of episode she was having, but eventually she started.. projecting images kind of like R2-D2 out of mist and at that point we got confused.
All-in-all, it was a fun night! :D I'm glad I can play more alts now. It's nice having toons outside the Lightrends and their extended family. :o
